    Hi,

As you can see I’m a 2nd year Developer Member. I’ve chosen Joomlart.com because I feel this is the best most progressive template website available. When it comes to Graphic Design, layout, css and php programming, Joomlart sets a high standard; not to mention the excellent effort that has gone into updating all the old 1.0 templates to 1.5 which is greatly appreciated.

I’d like to challenge the Graphic Design team of Joomlart to raise their standard above that of provocative and sexually stimulating images. I don’t need such content to sell me on how functional and usable a template is.

My basis for this request is simple; I’m happily married and out of respect for my wife I always guard my eyes from images that are distasteful and arguable provocative in a sexual sense. Upon each release of a new template I ask her to pre-view it before I scan through it myself. It would be nice if I didn’t have to do this…

Rule #7 states: Any signature or avatar that is offensive or insulting to either us, our members, or our staff, are prohibited.

By what standard is this rule judged? Where is the line drawn?

My professional opinion in regards to Rule #7 is that if it’s arguable then it doesn’t meet the standard.

If I were single or some zit-faced collage student, I have to admit I wouldn’t request such a challenge… However, it is my hope that their are other men out there who have similar personal standards and would boldly leave a reply to this post with a simple: “I agree.”

I am convinced that there is more than enough creative talent on the Graphics Design team of Joomlart.com to meet this challenge with ease and professionalism.

    Thanks for such excellent templates!

    Sincerest Regards,

    wolfix

    I disagree.

Simply because I can not find any sexually stimulating pictures in the JoomlArt demo’s. The only pictures I can think of that you mean are some cartoon-like pictures of fantasy gorls in the JA Sanidine and some pictures of women in the JA Nagya. But if these pictures are sexually stimulating for you, it tells more about you than about the pictures, sorry. There is nothing there what is sexually explicit. On an avarage newssite you see more sexually stimulating pictures than in the sample content of JoomlArt templates.

    Just my 2 cents.

    With kind regards,
    Peter

First let me point out that I mean no disrespect to you or your wife!

…but if this is how you live your life then there is something wrong with your marriage NOT with Joomlarts graphic content. To need your wifes permission, or to get her approval, before being allowed to view templates on a site like this is taking things to the extreme. Does your wife ask to view them first or do you request she does? Actually the answer is irrelevant. The fact that you do it shows that there is no trust in the relationship.

I actually thought while reading your post that it was a joke but then thought ‘no, this guy is serious’.

If any, and it’s a big IF, of the content on Joomlart templates could be considered of a ‘sexual’ nature then it is mild in the extreme and certainly not offensive to anyone unless you may be of a religion where anything less than a fully covered female is offensive, and again… no disrespect if you are. Although if you are, the content on Joomlart would be the least of your worries.

I think Joomlart or any other company who would use sexuality or the female form as a marketing technique would do it in a much more obvious and provocative way.

    Anyway… my 2 cents!

(I’m still astonished you have to get your wife’s approval before viewing a site like joomlart! Do you always have to watch movies after your wife has seen them first? Sorry… but no way I could be in a relationship like that!)

Myself i never saw anything sexual or inappropriate in a JA template.

Like watch at the tv at Six O’Clock and you will see alot more things. Or open a newspaper.

It would worth a discussion if JA would release porn templates but…. 😉

Its good that you respect your wife, but does she ask your permission aswell when she’s watching tv and a gillette razorblade commercial comes up with half naked men?

I know, it does seem strange outside of my perspective… and my tone was a little too serious on my initial post.

swemmel, scotty and bennitos, thanks for your gracious replies… In the past I probably would have flamed anyone who posted what I posted.

Maybe I should have sent a private message to Joomlart and not wasted anyone’s time on this issue. It is a personal one and maybe too much to burden others with. Maybe I shouldn’t have bothered with it at all.

This is a great company and a great community and I appreciate everyone to the utmost.

If it’s something you feel strongly about then by all means you should speak your mind. I just don’t think you would get many people to agree with you that any Joomart template is obscene or offensive.

Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Sorry, I can’t be quite so flowery with my response. When I read this post, I did a double take & proceeded to read it two more times because I couldn’t believe what *I* was seeing…

If your ‘virgin eyes’ aren’t allowed to view Joomla templates and other user’s avatars (in a TEMPLATE CLUB FORUM), I’d hate to know what else you can/can’t do in your relationship.

Regardless, you’ve clearly got ‘relationship issues’…and this forum isn’t the place to post them. I’d suggest getting some professional counseling instead of taking out your frustration on an innocent Joomla template club.

    Good luck with that.
