    Hi everyone,

Today I am very honored to introduce to all of you our new JA moderator – drarvindc

Arvind has applied for and acted as JA trial moderator for more than 2 months. During this time, he has shown his great enthusiasm to share and help new comers or any one who have difficulty with his in-sight knowledge of Joomla administration as well as JoomlArt products usage. I must say that he has excellently fulfilled and overcome the trial time of a JA moderator. And now it is high time for me to promote him to the position as JA official moderator!

Let’s welcome Arvind and discover more about his normal life, his dedication to Joomla & JoomlArt community and why he is a good match for the position of JA moderator.

    1. Hi Arvind, can you introduce us a little about you? How did you get your nickname? Where do you live and do you like your place?

The name is Dr. Arvind Chauhan. “dr” in the nick stands for “doctor” & “c” in the nick end stands for my surname >> drarvindc. I live in India, was studying and living in Mumbai for over 11 years, recently transferred to Nagpur city, nice city so far :).

    2. How and when did you meet Joomla and JoomlArt?

In 2006, i was searching for a CMS to shift my University Website (which was in html), tried many of them and finally settled for Joomla. Once set, wanted a template too to go well with my site, searched and fell in love with Ja Zibal. Ja Zibal was my first online purchase ever.

    3. Have you used other CMS? Why you choose Joomla? What do you like best in Joomla?

I had test driven many CMS such as Plone, xaraya, xoops before settling for Joomla. Out of all, Joomla was the only one with an easy learning curve. Support and documentation was readily available and not to mention the numerous extensions available. The best part of Joomla is that it can be used for almost all kinds of sites, ranging from personal sites / corporate sites to educational Intranets.

    4. There are a lot of Joomla template providers out there, why is JoomlArt your decision?

As i said earlier, Ja Zibal compelled me to join Joomlart. Once a JA member, i never bothered about other template clubs. I have always found JA templates to be flexible, easy to personalize / customize.

    5. And what template do you think it’s best in JA portfolio up to now?

Difficult to pick one, but the favourite one’s are Zibal, edenite, helio, zeolite.

    6. If you were the Leader of JA team, what is the first you thing you want to change in the templates, extensions?

Updated documentation / wiki for the templates / extensions is what we need at the moment, where members can also add tips / hacks, making it comprehensive.

    7. What kind of the design you wanna to see in the coming time?

I would suggest for blog template, something which can show user author avatar linked to user profiles (CB Profiles).

    8. Why do you want to be JA forum’s moderator?

It helps to help members in a better way.

    9. How do you plan to balance your full time work and supporting at JA forum as a moderator?

I have to be online daily for 2-3 hrs as i have to check over 15 Joomla’s running under my University website, that’s been a routine for the past 4 years now, It is now much more of habit to check the JA forums also, as i get to learn a lot. I have most of the JA quickstarts installed on my localhost for testing. I have been answering questions of which i know the answers, i shall continue doing that.

10 Are you keen on any type of soft drinks while you are at keyboard?

No appetite for soft drinks as such.

    11. What do you do at your free time? Any special hobbies?

Rarely i am left with free time, but can’t resist long drive opportunities, movies and music.

    12. What is your current employment status (what do you do)?

I work as Assistant Professor, Veterinary Surgery & Radiology (teaching & hospital duties) and also as webmaster for my university. I also have a personal site to offer some Joomla services (helps to renew various subscriptions).

    13. What would you name as the achievement you are most proud of in your life to date?

That day would be when, i would be able to buy a house of my own.

14.And finally, how about your marital status? Are you on date? Do you mind telling something about her? πŸ˜€

Got married in July 2008. She’s a Vet. Surgeon too and cant spell Joomla. I remember, when i told her about Joomla, she ended up asking “which drug is that?”.

Thank you very much, Arvind! It is very interesting to talk with you.

What do you think now after listening to quick interview with Arvind? I am sure that like myself, all of you are excited to have him here as a moderator. He is knowledgeable at Joomla & JoomlArt products. He is professional at teaching & tutoring. And above of all, he is dedicated to Joomla & JoomlArt as well as always ready to help others whenever he can.

And not only that, let’s wait and see Arvind ‘s creative contribution & ideas to improve JoomlArt club in the coming time.

Let’s give your biggest applause for Arvind!
