Hi everyone,

Today I am very honored to introduce to all of you our new JA moderator – bennitos

Bennitos is one of the top 10 thanked member in JA Forums and needs no introduction as such. He’s been an great helping hand in the forums and I feel happy in bestowing moderator privileges onto him. Let’s welcome Bennitos and discover more about his normal life, his dedication to Joomla & JoomlArt community.

1. Hi, can you introduce us a little about you? How did you get your nickname? Where do you live and do you like your place?

Hello my name is Jeroen which is a typical Dutch name. The biggest problem with that name is that most foreign people are not able to pronounce it! So some of my friends in the UK decided to call me Ben instead. One night after drinking way too many beers at a mexican party they transformed Ben into Bennitos. So thats how i got my nickname. I live in Holland very close to the German Border. And yes i love Holland 🙂

2. How and when did you meet Joomla and JoomlArt?

I took over a clients website that used Joomla with a Joomlart template, no passwords available or anything. So i had to dive in deep there!

3. Have you used other CMS? Why you choose Joomla? What do you like best in Joomla?

I have tried/used several other CMS like TYPO3. I like Joomla as it is user friendly and has a easy learning curve.

4. There are a lot of Joomla template providers out there, why is JoomlArt your decision?

After i had to become a member (because of the site mentioned at 2.) i never left. I always liked the JA templates and eventho i have seen templates at other clubs there was never one that made me think i WANT that one!.

5. And what template do you think it’s best in JA portfolio up to now?

Every template is good depends what kind of site you want, the ones i currently use live are: JA Raite, JA Nickel, JA Zeolite, Ja Uvite, JA Helio, JA Avian, JA Drimia, JA Nerine, JA Pariiti and JA Zibal

6. If you were the Leader of JA team, what is the first you thing you want to change in the templates, extensions?

To keep the improvement going regarding to documentation and support, updates to templates with good changelogs.

7. What kind of the design you wanna to see in the coming time?

Suprise me! It has to be easy to customise like plenty module positions etc.

8. Why do you want to be JA forum’s moderator?

If you get a chance to help improve things for the better take it! Helping out users with all kind of different problems is a good way to learn alot aswell.

9. How do you plan to balance your full time work and supporting at JA forum as a moderator?

I been active on this forum for quite a while now next to my work so i dont expect this will be a problem now 🙂 And biggest part of the day im behind a pc anyways so why not check the forum now and then? 🙂

10 Are you keen on any type of soft drinks while you are at keyboard? Do you smoke? 😛

In the weekend i like to drink a couple of beers and sometimes a Martini (Feel supported Arvind, you’r not the only one!)

11. What do you do at your free time? Any special hobbies?

Next to my normal Job and ofcource working on the Web i also have to do some studying. The time left i gladly spend on Nature photography.

12. What is your current employment status (what do you do)?

Im an IT specialist at a international construction company. Our biggest market is in Holland and Germany but in the summer time i wouldnt mind going to Spain witch is a growing market for us.

13. What would you name as the achievement you are most proud of in your life to date?

A couple times a year i make free websites for small charity projects. When im doing them im telling myself that im nuts for doing so but the very fanatic and thankful people make up for that without a doubt. It costs alot of time but when i see that after a year i helped raising lots of money for a good cause then im a happy man.

14.And finally, how about your marital status? Are you on date? Do you mind telling something about her?

I have a gf for the past 2.5 years now and she is studying to be a nurse.
