July 31, 2014 at 11:08 am #200143Hi there,
Sh404sef is generating hundreds of SEF URL’s like: en/en/Page-33941.html as those you can see in the screenshot.
The non-SEF URL for this example is: index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=703&lang=en&limitstart=135760&view=featured
Note that, in my website, the itemid 703 corresponds to a menu item. In particular the Home item of the English menu.
The only difference in all hundreds SEF URLs generated is the limitstart parameter.
Please can you give me a clue on why this is happening?
Thank you
joan

Hi @ninja Lead I did it, I submitted the question in the sh404SEF forum, and Jimie’s answer was clear:
<blockquote>sh404SEF does not generates urls, sh404sef simply rewrite non-sef urls found on your website into sef urls.
Those urls seams to be pagination urls, which means probably your website homepage displays a list of lots articles, which displayed in many pages.</blockquote>
So, the point is that some piece of the system is generating pagination related non-SEF URL’s. But we don’t have a lot of articles in our site, Our more populated category can reach 4 or 5 pages on the category list, but never forty or fivety thousands, which is the case.
Note that in the non-SEF URL’s generated, the only diference is the limitstart parameter. Some examples below
SEF URL ———————>non-SEF URL
en/en/Page-10421.html—>index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=703&lang=en&limitstart=41680&view=featured
en/en/Page-10523.html—>index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=703&lang=en&limitstart=42090&view=featured
en/en/Page-13406.html—>index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=703&lang=en&limitstart=53620&view=featured
en/en/Page-16676.html—>index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=703&lang=en&limitstart=66700&view=featured
en/en/Page-18753.html—>index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=703&lang=en&limitstart=75010&view=featured
… and hundreds of url’s like thisNote that always the itemid is 703, which is a menu item. It’s the Home Page item of the English Menu of our site. And apparently the configuration of such item is correct.
I’ve been reading in different forums and seems that there is some problem related to pagination in some platform with Joomla 3 and T3. Probably this is affecting our site
The problem is that the set Joomla + JA Brisk is creating hundreds of unexpected URL’s, and not sh404SEF
Please, any help will be appreciated

August 4, 2014 at 9:48 am #544413Can you send me link to see the pagination problem in Joomla 3 and T3? In T3 framework we do not change anything related to generating URL’s in joomla core.
I see your site is using old version T3 framework and I just upgraded it to new version on your site, please clear Url manager and test with new version T3 framework, if you still face the problem, you can pm me FTP account of your site. I shall help you check further.

August 5, 2014 at 8:03 am #544594Thanks @ninja Lead , now the user/password declared in the thread has SuperUser Rights. Thanks again for your help.
Probably this cache problem is the cause of our menu associations problem reported in this thread. I hope so
I deeply appreciate your help

August 7, 2014 at 8:52 am #545025Hi @ninja Lead ,
I set to OFF disabled cache on Global Configuration > System > Cache Settings > Cache > OFF Cache Disabled
Now, my setup regarding cache is as follows:
- Global Configuration > System > Cache Settings > Cache > set to “OFF Cache Disabled”
- Extensions > Plugin Manager > System Cache … Disabled
- Extensions > Plugin Manager > shlib – Db query cache and programming library … Enabled
With this setup, the Menu Associations problem reported in this thread seems to be solved. The question now is … disabling core caches will penalize my website performance? or shlib will take care now of that performance?
Unfortunately, with this setup still persist the creation of unexpected non-SEF URLs. No idea what module or plugin is generating such quantity (hundreds in 24 hours) of unexpected URL’s:
sef URL——————-non-sef URL
pagina-2.html————index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=913&lang=es&limit=4&limitstart=4&view=featured
pagina-39981.html—–index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=913&lang=es&limitstart=159920&view=featured
pagina-4516.html——-index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=913&lang=es&limitstart=18060&view=featured
pagina-46673.html—–index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=913&lang=es&limitstart=186690&view=featured
pagina-48663.html—–index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=913&lang=es&limitstart=194650&view=featured
pagina-8996.html——-index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=913&lang=es&limitstart=35980&view=featuredwhere 913 is the itemid of a menu item, in particular the Home Page of the Main Menu Spanish
Please any help will be deeply appreciated

August 7, 2014 at 10:17 am #545035Hi Joan,
I tried to help you to check all cases on JA Brisk template, but I’m sure from T3 framework and JA Brisk template could not define any generate link override with JOOMLA default.
<blockquote>With this setup, the Menu Associations problem reported in this thread seems to be solved. The question now is … disabling core caches will penalize my website performance? or shlib will take care now of that performance?</blockquote>
I see in sh404SEF component uses “site shlib – Db query cache“.
Can you contact sh404SEF component and ask them to find out the problem from Url manager in sh404SEF ?
If you need to help any thing about our product, please do not hesitate contact to us
