    hi all,
I can see the link “read more” only in frontpage, non in normal page, with JA News. The “read more” option is already selected in preferences.
    Any help, please?

    Hi Salvo

Can you provide a URL to the site, or screengrabs please?

Also, what version of Joomla are you using?

    Hi Salvo

You are working with same Template and Joomla version as me.

The only thing I see different between your site and my site that could be causing these problems is the ‘NewsFlash’.

Please can you ‘unpublish’ the newsflash and reload the site again to see if this makes any fix?

    Hi salvomic

Have you actually inserted the “read more” code into the article ? It doesn’t look like it when I viewed the site.

ok, I tried just now: no difference…

Also, I don’t know why my modules user5, user6, left and right begin so with the bottom and not on the top of page…

yes. In italian it is “Leggi tutto…”. I can see it in frontpage, but not in the other sections (see “Notizie” )

    thanks

    Hi Salvo

What Nigelto means is have you inserted the ‘Read More’ red dotted lines in every article?

This should be inserted in every article so that the ‘sections’ work. The Front Page works different.

As for the modules appearing below where they should, I really can’t help!

I am not 100% sure that this is what you are after but read this post about the read more button

no, in those articles there are not “read more” inserted. As some are long, I thank that JA News shows some text and the the “reda more” button…

For the modules appearing below, it’s a very puzzle for me: there is no strange module, but…

What they trying to explain you is that if you have some text in the article like:

text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text

You have to put “read more” option from your Joomla editor and the text should look like:

text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
    ——————————————————————-
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text
text text text text text text text text text text text text text

In your Joomla editor you have options like “image”, “page break” and “read more”

Nice one citron, I’ll try to make your post a bit more ‘graphic’!! 🙂

<em>@citron 62088 wrote:</em><blockquote>What they trying to explain you is that if you have some text in the article like:</blockquote>

So, when you create your article in the Editor, the ‘read more’ position will look like this:

You insert the red ‘read more’ line wherever you want it by placing your cursor in the article and then by clicking this button:

Just at the bottom of the screen!

    Good luck

citro, I know, but I would have articles that put automatically “read more” link if they are too long, as the layout report only part of them, but to read all the article I must make the title as link, otherwise they don’t present all the text. Is it possible?
    Thanks

First of all you have to understand how is work that template.

I’ll try to explain you simple:

Home page is ruled by 2 modules, JA_news and JA_news_hp.

JA_news_hp is working only with the option – published articles on the homepage

    JA_news working with ID Sections/Categories

If we have for example Section Music and Categories – Hip-Hop, Techno, Jazz
and in every categories you have one article. When you create menu MUSIC with parameters – Section Blog (leadin1, intro 4, columns 2, link 0) and click on it you will see:

    article 1 (one leading )
    ______________________

    article 2 | article 3
    read more | read more

The parameters for article 1 you can change it from JA_news_hp.
And the parameters for article2 and 3 you can change it from JA_news.

There in those parameters you will see options like size of the images, how many characters of the text you can see and also you will see options for “read more”.

And now to your question. Yes you can get the linked title articles. The parameters you will find in to the Menu options. There you have Parameter Component and Title Linkable (yes/no)

    Hi,

I also have the related problem. I can’t get the “read more” button in JANews (Front Page). However, the button apears in Section.

Look at “India Closes Torch Relay to Spectators” in
    http://www.anderson.trindade.nom.br/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=63&Itemid=187

and than, look at http://www.anderson.trindade.nom.br/joomla/, section Sport. The button isn’t there.

Thanks in advance for any tip.
