May 7, 2008 at 5:39 pm #128304I have four slides in ja_slideshow. Is it possible to insert links from a slide to a page within the site? If so, how can it be done?

May 7, 2008 at 8:02 pm #248114Are you using any particular web editor – such as Dreamweaver or another WYSIWYG application?

May 7, 2008 at 8:08 pm #248116I am using FCKeditor in Joomla. I have Dreamweaver on my computer but use Textpad for editing purposes.

May 7, 2008 at 8:11 pm #248117I ask because I’m pretty sure you can use a custom mod for the images you want to use in your slides,
and simply use HTML to assign an href to the image to whatever link you want.clrmedia Friendclrmedia

May 7, 2008 at 10:30 pm #248118I cannot locate information on a custom mod for images that would allow me to assign an href.

You simply code it within the html code that you enter within the field in the custom mod.Have you ever worked with custom mods before?

May 8, 2008 at 12:58 am #248126No, I have not worked with custom mods (and am not sure what they are) although I am competent with html. How do I access them?
I assumed I would have to modify the Javascript in ja_slideshow, which displays all images in the directory I specify.

May 8, 2008 at 4:05 pm #248229I found the answer in the Extensions forum. Go to the ja_slideshow module and set “Show description” to “Yes”. Enter your link information in “Description parameters”. I used the following to test my four images at http://www.cdscalgary.com:
sl-1.jpg:url=http://www.clrmedia.com
sl-2.jpg:url=http://www.clrmedia.ca/advanced
sl-3.jpg:url=http://www.clrmedia.org/scoa
sl-4.jpg:url=http://www.clrmedia.org/sciIf linking within your website, go to SEO Settings in Global Configuration. Set “Search Engine Friendly URLs” to “Yes”. This will provide links in the format http://cdscalgary.com/index.php/the-sector.
