You need to set the options to display articles, not link to images in a folder.

Go to Extensions, Module Manager from the joomla drop down menu and look for the ja flowlist module.

after selecting the module set the top parameter to display from contents, select whether you want to filter by joomla section or category and place the section or category ids in the large box that you want to display.

    Can be seen here

By the way, If you have url rewriting for SEO enabled the links wont work.

    Workaround described here http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/links-from-flowlist-when-sh404sef-enabled/

If you still need some help – check out the answer in my question: Setting up the JA-Flowlist – it is very helpful.

Remember the images in the flowlist are the pictures you set up in the article they link to…. you can’t link to anything you want – it has to be those articles you set up in your parameters…

    With best regards,

    Two questions,

    1. Where are the images which you wish to display in the flowlist stored on your webspace ?

    2. What location have you entered into the From Folder option of the flowlist module ?

I would try entering ‘stories’ into this option on the module and checking that you get any images which are stored in your stories folder as part of your webshare.

You need to link to articles not images if you wish to place text alongside the images.

The image displayed will be the first image in the article

First you need to decide if you wish to display by category or by section.

If by category navigate to your category menu and look for the title of the category that you wish to display. Look accross to the right and you will see an ID number. This is the ID of the category and you need to make a note of this. If you wish to display by section the idea is the same only you need to go to the section menu instead of the category menu.

You need to locate the mod_jaflowlist from the modules menu and select the module name.

Clicking on the name of the JA flowlist module will open up the parameters dialogue.

Should you wish to display your articles, you need to select flow list from contents as the top option.

In the category ID box make sure that the radio button is selected to category and enter into the box the category ID that you wish to display.

Make sure that show description images is selected to yes.

When you preview your site you should now see your selected category in the flowlist module.
