    Hi there,

I have a problem with URLs and links to categories/articles in News Pro module.

Links to the sample articles are as:
    /entertainment/entertainment-news/movies/315-1803159158

but when i created a new categories and articles, the url will be, for example:
    /177-news/news-thai/470-big-flood-in-thailand
it contains item id for the category and article which is different from the sample data.

When i clicked on the link, it went to nowhere but the homepage!!

I have enabled “Search Engine Friendly URLs”, “Use URL rewriting” and changed htaccess.txt to .htaccess but I still have problem with the links that go nowhere.

    Can anyone help me please:((

    Hi
It’s hard to say anything until now. Would you mind try to turn off SEF and check if it’s working well ?
    Thank you

    Hi Viet Vu,

I’ve tried to turn off SEF as you suggested but it doesn’t work still.

If I rename the sample category, the link works, but if I create new category, it doesn’t work. Unfortunately I’ve deleted most of sample categories.

I have sent you PM my acc to view my website.
If you look at “Life and Style” topic, everthing works well because it is the sample data.
If you check on “Travel” topic, it works well also because I’ve just add new subcategories while keeping the parent category(travel) unchanged.
But “News” topic is the new category I’ve added after remove the sample “News” category. This one doesn’t work.

    Yup got why
#1. You Home menu is 490 and in this template Home menu wont display component.
#2. You have created new Category but have no menu created / pointed to that Category -> J! will get current itemid ( Home – 490 ) to use -> Home menu won’t display component.
    #3. Solution:
Please create Category for “root” of each Category you want to use. I’ve created News Category for you.
    Thank you
