I’m not sure what has caused this, but now when you click on any content (except RSS feeds) or menu items, I am getting a 404 page cannot be found error. Everything was fine when I last looked at it on Saturday. Tonight I have a meeting with the Church Elders to discuss the website and now the links & menus don’t work :((

I can see what the problem is, but not the cause. You may find a link to the website helpful here – http://www.derbymethodists.org.uk/circuit

When everything was working OK, if you moused over an article link, the link would look something like this…
    http://www.derbymethodists.org.uk/circuit/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=43&Itemid=56

wheras now it may look something like …
http://www.derbymethodists.org.uk/circuit/index.php/alvaston Note “alvaston” is the alias for the article.

(N.B. Allestree is working because I changed the link to that of an external link. Whilst this works fine as a workaround, it doesn’t address the menus).

Posting a new article works OK in that the article shows on the front page in JA News, however clicking on the article results in a 404 error. The article in this case is the “Test news article”

I would be grateful if anyone has any ideas about what has happened. Could something like a CRON job cause this?

    Every best wish

I guess you’ve got this error because you’ve enabled SEF component in your admin panel and does not have .htaccess file. Please go to your Administrator panel and disable your SEF component if any.

If you do not know how to figure it out, please PM me your administrator info, I will check it for you.
