Hello Support,
Is there a way to show the articles that are viewed from JA News2 be listed horizontally instead of vertically.:-[

Hi 2,

I’m not quite sure what you are meaning…perhaps a screenshot would help.
But all of the functionality for the JA_News module can be found in the module itself. Open it up and you’ll find a wealth of parameters to adjust and play with.

I would like to show the items assigned to sections horizontally. Right now I have create multiple category’s in order to do that.

7606

I want to just show the section item and list them horizontally in the assigned area.

Hope I’m being clear… Thanks

2domedia,

It would help to see your site…if you can provide a live URL…
But here’s something to do:

In the Administrator area Goto: EXTENSIONS > MODULE MANAGER > JA NEWS MODULE

Then on the Parameters on the right, set
INTRO ITEMS: 1
LINK ITEMS: 6
(or how ever many you want)
COLUMNS: 1

See if that doesn’t make it appear close to what you want.

Have fun!

I’m developing my site on my local computer…sorry :((

However, I’m providing another screen shot to let you see what I’m see so far –
7609

The two pictures are a part of the section / category called “Obituaries” and the are show on-top of each other. What I would like is to show them side-by-side.

Is that possible without creating another category?

Thanks

Yes…use my above settings…and adjust the COLUMNS number. Make it “2” and see if that doesn’t do it for you.

I tired that and it didn’t work. Here’s what my view currently is –
7618

and here’s what I’m trying to get to –
7619

I want to provide this view by section only and not use categories. Or if I do, name them both the same (ie: obituaries) and get the same results.

Is this possible?

Thanks

I can’t do much more without your live URL to work with. Can you pass along?

OK, I just uploaded everything to my web servers and here’s the URL:

http://174.121.37.187/~thabuzz/[/url

The areas to focus on in the “Obituaries” section using JA News 2. For the two articles that is listed (one with picture and one listed below), I would like for at least three articles to go across.

Let me know if you need anymore information.

Thanks

Hello,

You should not make this info public, better delete it directly.
Better send this info in private message.
Regards,

2domedia,

Teline3 was not made to do what you want, I’m afraid, and try as I might in the back end, I couldn’t engineer a workaround.

HOWEVER…might I make a suggestion. Why not use a Contentslider to do what you want?

Not only will you get a horizontal look, but it will be much more elegant I think.
You can see it in action as ”TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS” on the JA_RASITE demo.

Would probably need some size tweeking, but that would be nothing compared to re-engineering JaNews2. 🙂

If that sounds like an idea, then download it from above, set it to the content-bot position on the HOME page…and then ring me if you need help getting it to fit on the front.

See what you think.
John.
