    Hi Folks

I’ve been approached by a Radio Station that want to do live broadcasts via the internet.

Does anybody know of a Joomla Component that can provide live audio streaming via some kind of front end (Flash?) audio player?

I’m happy to pay for it!

    Many Thanks
    Chris

    Hi Chris,

Did you try Shoutcast radio?, I used the shoutcast radio to run radio station for the college through my own server. I used to put two links for the listeners on my joomla site. One for Windows media player and another link for opening the stream in VLC media player.
Crude method of doing it, but it worked for my college.

They have improved a lot now. I just checked them out after almost 2 years. It should not be difficult to integrate the links or popups in joomla.

I used to use winamp to connect and stream my radio, friends in germany and poland enjoyed it too. Though my college upload bandwidth could allow only 40 users at a time.

Do let me know, what you end up using, it will be of help.

    Arvind
