Components that make a call to /libraries/cms/html/bootstrap.php:loadCss() function, mess up Purity Menus.
Here are the files that get loaded when the function loadCss() gets called.

/media/jui/bootstrap.min.css
/media/jui/bootstrap-responsive.min.css
/media/jui/bootstrap-extended.css

See the results when these files are loaded:

The conflicting classes seem to be “dropdown-toggle” and “caret” that use the /media/jui/css/bootstrap.min.css version rather than template.css.

May I know which component you’re using with Purity III template?

The component I am using is jomClassifieds.
Even though it COULD be related to the component, it seems that Purity III should work with the base bootstrap css (/media/jui/bootstrap.min.css)

There maybe conflict with boostrap css used in Purity III template, please check out this thread: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/a-call-for-sensible-compatibility-translation-contribution-for-purity-iii/
