Is it possible to have the location filter list populated by a database table rather than have the list added to the Locations configuration?

The reason I ask is that I would have to add far to many locations to the filter for the area that our jobs board needs to cover. I just want to display only those locations that currently have vacancies

Or, is it possible to have a checkbox to select ‘only show locations in the filter that actually have jobs
