    i originally downloaded and installed this template for a client in May of this year, 2010. and it would seem that the fixes that work for others are not working for me. is there a more current version, because in downloads for the template i am seeing only one from 2009. in IE8 the logo is still too far left although it views fine in firefox.

    i tried to follow the fixes in this post: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/logo-problem-content-slider/

    <!-->
    <style type="text/css">
    .clearfix {display: inline-block;}
    </style>
    <!-->

    and change to:

    <!-->
    <style type="text/css">
    .clearfix {display: block;}
    </style>
    <!-->

    HOWEVER the above code does NOT exist in my index.php file. i then scrolled further down the solved issue and found another suggested fix to the ie.css file. unfortunately, there is no ie.css file in my ja cooper template folder? should there be? there is an ie.php file, but no ie.css file.

    thanks.

    You will find the above code in ie.php. Removing the inline part does seem to work though it is hard to tell as I am using an IE emulator on this laptop.

    thanks so much for your speedy response 🙂 however it occurs to me that i am referring to an IE7 fix and i am viewing in IE8 LOLOL so… too much coffee, not enough coffee? i don’t know but i’m going with not enough 😉 brewing more now…

    anyway, so i went back into the post (http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/logo-problem-content-slider/) and since the IE8 section clearfix in the ie.php file is already set to block, i went ahead and tried the second fix in the post and added the following:

    h1.logo, div.logo-tex t{
    left: 0;
    }

    into the IE8 section. AND while this seems to have changed the position of the logo (see attached IE8_error1.jpg) it moved it all the way to the left. so i then tried manipulating the “0” to a higher number: first trying 30; second 40; third 50; and so on. and although it did move it to the right some it gets to the original position (before the fix), and it stops, no matter how high the number goes (see attached IE8_error2.jpg).

    btw the site in question is here: http://www.2cbh.com/test_site/

    also i tried the submit ticket option in my menu and received a horrible message code, has anyone else been able to submit a ticket today?

    any help is greatly appreciated. thanks.

    What custome modifications did you make to the head of that? I can see the search module is messed up amongst other things. I have checked our demo page and all appears fine.

    thanks so much for your response, the only thing i altered other than the logo and the css to position logo, was i swapped the regular search module for the virtuemart search module. i am still trying to position that with css a little better. are you thinking this is the issue? because these guys really need the virtuemart search over the regular search. thanks.

    Lets try from basics first then add the vm search. If you restore to standard then we can see if that is the cause.

    OK so i restored the regular search and it is still off to the left.

    i then removed the user4 modules altogether and it is still off to the left in IE8 thanks.

    i also went ahead and removed the earlier code i had added to the ie.php file as well and it still hasn’t budged. thanks.

    Hmm, wierd. It’s is very hard for me to diagnose without IE.

    Here is what I would do. Rename the template>JA_Cooper to something else then upload a copy of the latest version into it’s place. Don’t install the template, just use a copy from the latest quickstart. You should then in just a few seconds be able to see if it is any custom mods you have made or if some fixes have been applied that I am not aware of (as a moderator thousands of miles away from JA central I am not party to all that might go on). If that is the case we can then use windows grep to compare the differences or apply your mods to the updated version, whichever is easiest.

    OK so i uploaded a fresh copy of the ja cooper template and swapped my logo in and now it is too far right in firefox 🙁 how am i supposed to get it working in both? if i change the css to fix it in firefox it messes up the IE8 position, etc. i am used to dealing with separate css stylesheets but this template isn’t exactly setup that way. anyone? thanks.

    i suspect that if i edit the css to correct the position in firefox, it will mess it up again in IE8 🙁
