I have tried everything to replace the logo but the background logo just wont go off.

what can i do?

Hi
its bg image behind logo , Add below code in custom.css file .
Go to /css/custom.css file (create the file if its not present ) and add below code
```
.t3-mainnav .logo-image a {
    background-image: none!important;
}
```
This will fix the problem .
