Hi, is it possible to move the logo from the top to where the home (=little house icon, left part of the menu bar) is? Customer does not like all the empty space on the top part, left and right of the original logo, as it is now.

For this you have to do custom work in php files .
Kindly take a backup of site
then open Mega menu > select Home > remove icon and extra class > http://prntscr.com/d89zlm .
Save it.
Now open /tpls/blocks/header.php file and replace the file with attached file .

Then go to tpls/default.php file and remove the below code
<?php $this->loadBlock('mainnav') ?>

It will look like this : http://prntscr.com/d8abqa
this is a custom work and can be ovrride in template update . Also you can not use bigger logo since the space is not enough .
