February 21, 2012 at 3:08 pm #174125Greetings,
Droid Logo Source FileMy understanding of Layers is quite limited, and I need help specifically with the actual ‘DROID’ text layer which I need to edit.
I need to change only the lettering, because I need to retain the Droid Logo styling which, of course, matches the Template perfectly.
I have Adobe Fireworks CS5 which I purchased solely for the purpose of editing the Droid text.
However, there appears to be only two text layers and both have the same text in a small typeface: ‘July 10 Template with Google Font’ and I can edit that layer successfully with ease. But not the main text: ‘DROID’
Could someone with knowledge of this source file and Fireworks CS5 explain to me how the DROID text layer is edited, in Fireworks please.
Please be as specific as possible. It is imperative that I keep the default style of the logo intact.I have searched the forum and have not found an exact solution.
With Thanks,
Mike.

February 21, 2012 at 4:18 pm #439294Hey There Mike . . .
Can you, perhaps, provide a screenshot capture of the elements you are wanting to modify – and what you are wanting/hoping to accomplish? It will give me a much clearer idea of what you want and how to advise you further.
Thanks !!!

Hello Tom, thanks so much for your reply.
Pavit appears to be on the case and he has kindly converted the file over to Fireworks.
I am going to attempt an edit of that – and I’ll be back to report on my progress tomorrow.
Grateful Thanks,
Mike

I can’t thank you enough – I have battled with this file for many, many weeks and I now have a logo that matches exactly the Design of Droid.
There’s one small caveat to this; the file was using the default blue colour, and the background was blue instead of transparent. I was able to disable that background; and now, I just have to change the colour of the horizontal line elements which, somehow, were also blue, instead of white.
I am not sure how to do that yet.
Very many thanks to you and Tom.
Mike.
