January 28, 2009 at 11:02 pm #137610I would like to place a ja_lolite type news flash in the top module.
I want the whole width of the screen to change – and I want to put the images in the newsflash articles so they change with the news flash text
When I try it the images in the templates/images/headers folder still display. How do I change this?
Here is the website. http://joomla.greatersouthwest.org
Here is a website I want it to act like: http://www.swreach.org
Thanks for the help.

</blockquote>The module was written to show this image in the background:
http://joomla.greatersouthwest.org/templates/ja_iris/images/headers/header.jpgYou can cheat it by opening that image in Photoshop or some other program and make it just white and reupload.
You can’t just delete it or some browsers will show the “little red X” when it can’t find the file. You could delete the line in the module if you really want…but just switching out the image will work.Now to have the images you want to show in the slideshow with the copy, you need to include it with the copy…as you would an article.
And you need to make a CSS adjustment to make the slideshow stretch the full width:
In template_css.css (line 1206) change the red highlighted area below to read width: 100%
#ja-topsl div.moduletable {
left:15px;
margin:0;
padding:0;
position:absolute;
top:30px;
width:45%;
Now this may not be exactly the be-all-end-all but it will at least get us heading in the right direction and we can tweak it as needed later.
Have fun.

January 29, 2009 at 1:47 pm #288816Thanks John, the solution worked really well. So well, in fact, that I was able to use the cheat to my advantage. I replaced the “header.jpg” with a transparent cartoon map background and I’m not able to scroll my pictures over it. It looks really good, thanks to you expert advice. Take a look: http://joomla.greatersouthwest.org
I was in Falls Church (well, passing through, anyway) last week. My son and I flew from Chicago (where we live) to DC for the inauguration. We landed at Dulles and took a shuttle to the West Falls Church Metro stop, where we met a family member who lives in Falls church for coffee before hopping on the Metro to continue on to DC. Falls Church seems like a pretty nice place
