I loaded JA News to my site and when it moved my module positions around I removed it. Unfortunately, I had also named it as my default home page and menu. When I removed it and removed the language .ini file for it, I found that my index page was not available.

I can still see the site home page…http://heartskitchen.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=121&Itemid=53

but not at this address http://www.heartskitchen.com or heartskitchen.com/index

Thank you so much for your assistance.

    Kind regards,

    Sterling Garrett

I’m a bit confused here, forgive me if you are a former member, but I see your site template is not a JA one, but you come here and ask for help, when you’re using a yootheme?

I’ll assume you got JA tabs ( the forum your posting in) and JA news when you were a member 🙂 what you are seeing if you have deleted your index file etc is probably a cached version of your site.

The universal remedy for lost files is to reload them from your backup or if you don’t have them your host should, as they back up at least weekly, some el cheapo hosts may want to charge you to restore files some may not good luck anyway

Just a note, the template used was released by Yootheme a few days ago on the first of the month, so you never know what template was originally used with the site when the current site was just changed to the new one some very short time ago.

All I wonder why I still can see the shutterstock.com watermark on the header pics, seems to be in early development.

    Much fun!:)

Thanks so much for your replies. Yes I am using Yootheme, but the error I got is from the JA News component. I will look into my back up of the site.

I was actually hoping that there was just a setting which told Joomla where to go when the index page is accessed. Earlier when I loaded JA News it pulled up the modified JA News Homepage. When I deleted the component – my front page went away altogether. The site is still there – I just could not find a way to get my settings back to what they were before.

If you deleted the component then there is no component to called the modified page (sorry I thought you’d deleted your index file) the index file may still be present but needs something to get it and display it, I’m unsure if merely reinstalling the component wil trigger the reload, maybe worth a try,
    Hope you get it working
