Hi!
I’m looking for some feedback about my new site: http://www.freemagazine.fi
I’m specially interested in knowing your opinion about the position of the top banner. Is it better on top of the header (as it is know) or inside the header (as the file attached).
Any other feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

June 13, 2007 at 4:32 am #222014Yeah the picture looks fine but I could never get your site to load. Either really slow or ??
June 13, 2007 at 7:04 am #222031I can only think that the server has been down for a while during the night here (Finland). Otherwise the site seems to work fine.

June 13, 2007 at 7:07 am #222032I guess I am too late to reply as the site and the image look the same to me.. 🙂
June 13, 2007 at 7:17 am #222037it is not too late. the main difference is the position of the top banner. but please, feel free to leave any other feedback if you have some comments.

June 13, 2007 at 8:34 am #222046The movie doesn’t seem to be loading ( at least not in FF ) Otherwise I think it is a beautiful implementation of another excellent Joomlart template. The perfect choice for your type of site. I think you have a great mix of pictures and text and it all blends beautifully. Really it does. Many people try to make too many changes and that sometimes makes the site look less appealing. Your site looks great!

June 13, 2007 at 3:02 pm #222081I think your site looks good also. Many websites like to put a banner in the top position you are using now. I think it is more of a personal preference as to put it there or not. I was wondering how you went about putting the header on top of the menu. Would you mind posting how you did it? It would be a great help to the community here. 🙂
June 13, 2007 at 8:50 pm #222107Sure, I can post what I did. It’s pretty easy and myself I’m not a big coding expert
I inserted the following piece of code before the header and then I created the module position in the Joomla backend.
<!-- BEGIN: BANNER-TOP -->
<div id="banner-top" class="banner-top">
<?php if (mosCountModules('banner-top')>0) { ?><?php mosLoadModules('banner-top',-1); ?>
<?php } ?>
</div>
<!-- END: BANNER-TOP -->bigrk Friendbigrk

June 15, 2007 at 2:31 am #222186Thanks for sharing eetu. I assume this code is inserted into the index.php. Let me know if I am wrong.
June 18, 2007 at 11:42 am #222329Exactly. It’s in index.php.

</blockquote>Hi,
I really like your site and especially the menu appearing below the header. I have followed your instructions above but it does not seem to work. How does joomla know where to place menu if it has not been mentioned in the above code?? I am not the best at coding especially php!!
I was wondering if you could send me some further instructons as to where i might be going wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Britop
June 25, 2007 at 10:03 am #222668Correct me if I’m wrong, but i think the code eetu posted was from the ad banner he has at the top of his page, I don’t think it referred to placing the menu below the header image.
June 25, 2007 at 3:43 pm #222690Hi Gravesend46,
Yeah I see what you mean. Do you have any idea as to how to move the menu below the header at the top. I have played around moving the modules in the index.php file and found copying and pasting the code for the main menu below the header module works but unfortunatley the template defualts to centre formatting :confused:
Any ideas or sugestions would be greatly appreciated.
