    Hello,

I’ve had a client come to me with some questions about Magento. I work with Joomla and WordPress and so I’m not very familiar with Magento.

A Magento website has been developed but there are some problems (I think): –

    • They want to add a horizontal navigation to the top of the page – how easy is this to do? There appears to be an “extension” (is that the right word?) from Magento connect that will do the trick, but I don’t know how Magento works and whether there are things like the Joomla module positions. Is it easy to add in a navigation exension to the right place on the website?
    • They want to sort out canonical URLs – apparently Google is picking up more web pages than were created on the Magento store and they are concerned about duplicate content? Can this be solved and does it need to be solved?
    • They apparently have a problem with feeds to Google – whatever that means – and something about Google changing how it accepts Magento feeds?? Can anyone shed any light on this
    • They want to change the categories of products and re-order them differently – is that easy?

Can anyone with more Magento experience comment on these points please?

To JoomlArt.com staff: My client is a SEO company with a number of Magento clients. They may wish to use JoomlArt templates for Magento. Would any of your templates solve this problem?

    Greetings:

In considering becoming a JMTC Member, I invite and encourage you to look through our JMTC Theme Showcase Catalog of our diverse and dynamic Magento Themes –> http://www.joomlart.com/magento/themes/showcase

What kind of additional “horizontal navigation” are you (or your clients) wanting to add to any given Magento Theme? Depending on what it is, specifically, you are looking to accomplish – if I am correct in thinking what it is you are referring to – it is generally a relatively simple process of custom CSS relative to a menu module element.

Category modification is a very simple (and basic) core function of Magento.

As for issues relating to Google Analytics and other SEO related issues, more specific questions can generally be answered – and/or researched and answered – when posted within our JMTC Community Forum . . . within which you will also find a great wealth of knowledge, tips and tutorials available to you as a JMTC Member.

You can review all benefits and options available to you amongst our several JMTC Membership/Subscription Plans HERE[/url].

If you should have any additional question with regard to our JMTC Products, Membership Plans and Benefits, please do not hesitate to ask. We’ll be looking forward to welcoming you to our JoomlArt Community.

    🙂
