I’m trying to create a drop/ 1 column layout of articles on the front page. After enabling the main content block on the front page, I was able to achieve this, however it only displays featured articles.

I need it to display all featured and non-featured articles from all categories. This is what I have already tried… I created a new parent category and assigned all of the other categories to it. So I created a category named “everything” and started assigning child categories to it “world”, “sport”, “health”, etc. Then I opened the “home” menu item and selected “category blog” for the menu type, and I selected “everything” as the category. So now all articles from all child categories of the “everything” category should be displayed on the front page in the main content block. However, all that is displayed is a list of links to the sub-categories like so (this is a picture of the main content block on the front page):

I tried doing the same thing under one of the other menu items just to see if it would work, and it did. This method works if I do the same thing under the “world” menu item. How do I do the same thing on the front page in the main content blog? This is a picture of the “world” menu item after applying the changes that I mentioned above. It’s displaying all articles from all categories under the “everything” category unlike the main content block on the front page, which is only displaying links to the sub categories:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There does appear to be a bug. If you select a different category in the menu manager it pulls up the blog type. This should not be tied to the existing categories IMHO.

    Hi jakubd,

there was a problem with your article settings. Please see the screenshot I’ve made for your understanding 🙂

If you don’t have any articles in the root category of “everything”, then nothing can be displayed (exept the subcategories).

@phill, sorry, our answers overlapped 🙂

    Cheers
