The drop down menu has the correct websafe colour but it is lighter in IE (looks like greater % transparency) than on FF. Therefore you cant read the text when it drops down.
It does the correct colour when you hover over it.

I posted this yesterday – no replies on the forum.

The only thing is – if you can fix it, can you also tell me how so I know too?!

    cheers

    Hello,

I have checked You template with IE7, 8 and 9 and didn’t noticed anything different.

BTW transparency comes from this image, if You want to change it: http://www.makeastrand.com/templates/ja_quartz/images/trans-bg.png

Note that none of our templates support IE6, which means there is no transparency of the background png image.

Hey thanks for having a look at IE 6,7,8. Actually the issue is that it for some reason the colour is too light – it looks perfect on FF but not on IE. I just want to try to find out why! Any other ideas?

    cheers.

Sorry, but which color is too light – font color?

If so You can change it in the CSS file of the menu.

HIya again… and thanks for your clarification Qn.
Font colour is OK. What I mean is …
the fill colour of the drop down menu boxes prior to hovering. It is much lighter than on FF.
When hovered over it shows the correct colour (purple).
maybe I am just not cut out for this!

could You please post screenshot from Your browser, because I can’t reproduce this issue.

HI and thanks for your input. I just checked the page on another computer and it’s fine – now I don’t know if that’s because I tried a couple of fixes last night that I found here on this site or if my computer at home is weird. Doesn’t matter!! It’s all OK.
thanks so much – I am living proof that a little bit of knowledge is dangerous…. but maybe with a bit of persistence, I may actually get really good at this!
    🙂
