I have recently embedded a Youtube video in the JA-Slideshow module position. The problem is now that the Main Menu falls behind the Flash Video.

I have had this issue before on another template and I think it has something to do with the Z-Index.

Can someone shed any light on this problem for me?

    Dear houghtonpw,

In this case please just adding the attribute wmode=”transparent” into your object tag,I hope that will help .

    Hi,

I was having the same issue and did add the tag which fixed the menus being hidden. However, it now creates an area around the animation which shows the background instead of being flush top and bottom. I’ve tried adjusting the size of the animation but this creates odd pixelation in the animation itself.

See attached screen grabs – what is should look like, what it should look like but the menus are hidden and what it looks like when the transparency object tag was added.

Also, once I entered the transparency object tag, each time I go to preview mode, it freezes up my browser and although you can get to the menus, everything is frozen and clicking does nothing.

Any ideas on resolutions for these issues?

Also, if I want to have an animation fit properly in this area, which is the size I should use (in pixels)?

Thanks for any insight and help.

    The problem is the z-index.

I had the same problem. The “Mega menu” went under the ja-slideshow module.

It took me some time to figureout. It seemes that giving the menu-items a high z-index-value did not help.

But it turns out that the whole “menu-wrapper” is z-index’ed pretty low (z-index: 11). That causes the problem.

Open template.css (The main template file)

    Find the #ja-mainnav section.

Change the z-index to something high (or at least higher than the content below the menu).

I changed mine to 901, and it solved all my problems.

That didn’t work for me, updating the template.css. Mines was already sitting at z-index: 22. I changed it to 901 to see if it would make a difference. I am using JT Slideshow in my slideshow section. Could it possibly be that?

    Hello stelfair,

Please give me the link to your site, i ‘ll resolve this issue.

You can also try to do this by youself:

you can use Firebug addon for firefox to find css rules applying for elements containing the slideshow and the menu, here is the userguide http://www.kristarella.com/2009/02/how-to-use-firebug-for-css/,

Adjust the value for the z-index property.
