    Hi,

I have a slide show module in the home page and the main menu in my site hides behind the slide show. This happens only in Internet Explorer. I tried these settings “position:relative; z-index:99” for the id ‘ja-mainnav’ in template.css file but still not working.

    My site: http://www.test.medentry-hpat.ie

    Kindly help.

    Thanks,
    Kirup.

    Hi Kirup,

I checked your site in IE 7 and the menu is displayed exactly like it is see in google chrome. If I mouse over on any menu item in the menu above slideshow, I see the submenus correctly, they are not hidden behind slideshow. I have attached a screenshot from IE 7 for your reference. Please tell me if the issue is occurring in some other IE version or if I am not checking correct issue

    Hi Himangi,

    Thanks for your quick reply.

I checked with IE 8. It is hidden. For your reference I have attached the screen shot.

    Cheers,
    Kirup.

    Hi,

I checked IE8 and saw the issue and it seems a z-index issue to me. The z-index getting applied for the image slides in the slideshow. If you check while slide is changing the submenus can be seen in the background…

If you can provide site admin details and ftp details (in case you are using Joomla 1.5, since I wont be able to edit Ie specific css from J1.5), via PM, I can try to fix it.

    Hi

Can you please click on my name ‘himangi’ you can see on left of my reply and click on Private Message to send the info? Dont worry, that info will be visible only to me and not anyone else.. I would prefer to get an PM rather than an email. Hope that is ok with you.

    Hi Kirup,

I did receive the details but in ftp I could not see any joomla folders. I can only see few php files. I did replied to your PM telling you the same. Can you please check it again and send it to me?

    Hi,

I have commented the z-index property applied to ja-mainnav element from templates/yourtemplate/css/ie.php line no. 45. After changing this I have checked the site in IE 7, IE 8 and the submenu is displaying over the slideshow now.

    Please check and confirm.

    Hi Kirup,

I checked the issue and one of your articles and it had created date and modified date set to 1. I tried changing date but for some reason the the change didnt get saved. You will need to check that and change dates for all articles having 1 in date and it will start appearing correctly.
