Hello. I am using the JA Purity II Template. Up till now things have gone smoothly. However, I have spent the past three hours tracking down an issue that seems to be causing others a lot of trouble.
When you log in using the front end, and create an article, you are able to submit it. If you go back later and attempt to edit the article and then save it in the front end, your changes will not save.
This is the case for the JCE editor, the JoomlaCK editor and the default MCE editor..
1) I have uninstalled the last two, reinstalled them, and nothing works.
2) I have cleared my cache a thousand times.
3) I have changed group permissions
4) I have looked to see if this is the issue:
http://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/forum/topic?f=6&t=15095&hilit=cant%20save&start=10
It is not. After much trial and error, iI have determined with confidence that it is the template. I switch to the Beez template, and try multiple editors, and am able to save each time. But when I switch back to the JA Purity II emplate, I cannot save.
It appears that three editors are not compatible with the JA Purity II template int he front end.
This is a major issue for us, as we need to have users be able to edit their articles.
Has anyone replicated this? Is there a fix to this anywhere?
Any help would be appreciated.
April 4, 2010 at 6:10 pm #339058Hello…this is a serious issue for us. I am at my wits end with this…I did send off info to the board admins, so hopefully they can help, but has anyone encountered this? We may have to use another template if none of our users can save items they create on the front end! :-/

April 7, 2010 at 8:19 pm #339522Hello,
I tried to reproduce your issue in Ja-Purity-II but no succes: I could submit an article from frontend and later re-open and edit it from frontend without problem.
No idea what could be wrong in your setup.Regards,
MicranthaApril 24, 2010 at 12:57 am #341395I have figured this out. Let this be a lesson to everyone.
I had Ninja Content installed, a module that allows for people to save through the front end. Turns out that’s the ONLY way you can save through the front end if you have this component installed. Clicking the little notepad icon as an admin, for example, will allow you to add and save an article normally initially, but not any resaving. You must save or submit an item on the front end using this specific component IF you have it installed.
I suspect this issue occurss with other front end content components, of which there are many. It MAY also be template related, as I COULD save when using the default beez template, but not with JA Purity ii.
Thanks for looking at the problem.
