    Hi,

Is there any step-by-step guide on how to make JA Ores multilingual?

I have installed JA Ores quick start WITHOUT sample data and then upgraded to latest Joomla version of 1.7.3.

I tried to follow Joomla instructions to make my website multilingual basically by looking at: http://multilingual-joomla-demo.cloudaccess.net and the PDF version at http://help.joomla.org/files/EN-GB_multilang_tutorial.pdf but got lost at the step which requires me to create a specific mainmenu module for each language as I don’t know the position of main menu of JA Ores even if I add ?tp=1 to the end of page URL of the front end it doesn’t reveal the position.

    Please see attached image.

Second, I will need to create a position in front end for language switcher – the process which I need advice on it as well.

Please also advise if there is any guide populated by Joomlart adjusted to facilitate the activating the multilanguage capability on JA Ores or other templates.

    Thanks,

    Vaalf

    Hi vaalfco

I think the best way to obtain what you want are examples, there isn’t any guide on how to make a multilingual site on Joomlart forum but there are many threads on this argument in Ja_Travel forum for example.

Btw if you can give in PM your admin credentials i can do 1 language switch for you as example

    Hi Pavit,

Unfortunately, my installation in not on a live server but my own local host.

    1) Could you please at least tell me know how to find the position of main navigation menu as requested originally?

    2) How should I create a position for “Language Switcher” module?

    Thanks,

    Ehsan

For a multilingual site you need to create a new menu then when create the Home for that menu you must click on the star positioned on the right so joomla assign that home to the language menu and assign it the language installed previously for example French language

    For the position of the module isn’t there any specific position, but you can use the Hotnews position at the top and add a custom suffix to the module for example “.languageswitcher {float:right; }

    Pavit,

I added “.languageswitcher {float:right; } as a custom suffix to the language switcher module but no result!

I also tried to re-position the language flags by using Firebug but again no output.

    Thanks,
    Vaalf

Sorry but i need to see your site to solve your issue.

Please find a way to put it online, when you have it online send me a PM and we can solve your issue together

otherwise i think we are wasting time because for me is like to drive a car blindfolded.

    Thanks

So at least let me know which CSS file should I add my styles after adding the suffix in backend?

    Thanks,

You can add it in your template.css in this folder /templates/Ja_Ores/css
