    I’m moving along on this template and I have to say I’m quite pleased with the terrific look and feel of the site I am doing at http://www.denisereynolds.com . Not finished yet, but getting close. Check it out.

    One thing that’s still unresolved is my home page header image. I have a comp up there now. Before I purchase this image I’d like to see if the dark bar that houses the newsflash quotations that overlay the image could be made transparent. Right now the message that the image is designed to convey is getting obliterated by the darkness of the bar.

    If it’s not possible to make it completely transparent then I’d like to fade it as much as possible.

    If anyone knows how to do this could you post the code or send me a PM?

    Many Thanks!

    Hi – Don’t know if you still need this, however I did the following on our site and it removed the flash dark shadow:

    Put <!– –> around the section of code below – I think the area is called ‘innerpad’. It worked on mine at least. See below for example of finished code.

    <!– <div class=”innerpad”>
    <?php echo mosLoadModules ( ‘top’,-2 ); ?>
    </div> –>

    Could you be more specific so I can replicate the all-white issue? I’m not getting that.

    Menalto,

    I tried your fix. It did take the black bar out, which then looked great on my home page—the page where the black bar was obliterating the header image. But I changed it back because on other header images with partially light backgrounds the white letters were no longer legible without the black bar.

    I am thinking if there’s a way to fade the intensity of the black bar—say to 50% of the dark default shade—that may work for both types of photos. Hopefully it would still make the white letters visible over a light portion of the background image without completely obscuring the view of the darker photo that I have as the home page header image.

    What do you think?

    Is it possible to fade the bar?

    Replace that image with a transparent gif, that way in formating remains…
    there should a 1×1 spacer.gif lying around some where, add into there make the same size as the image, and change the name in the template_css to suit this image name..

    cheers
