Hi,
Is there any change to hide the text on the ‘top’ menu?
I’d like to put some pictures in that menu with hovers etc. (with a deifferent font etc.)
Is there any change to let the default text dissapear? (home, news, about us, etc.)i wan’t some thing like this: (just a photoshop atm.)
Would u please give me some hint? I know how the CSS works, but i cant figure out where and how i have to edit the split-menu.php.Thanks!, Dadario.

March 9, 2007 at 7:08 am #215404Hi Dadario,
Why do you want the text disappear? If so, how can the navigation and current menu highlighting work? I can not get your idea clearly. Can it be a little more specific?
Regards,
Ha Le-Viet.March 9, 2007 at 8:06 am #215408i think i didn’t make myself clear 😉 ..
In the template (topmenu) there is text used, in arial or something, if i use a background in the css for the menu wich contains text on a picture in the font u see above, the text out of the db (in arial) will be shown also on the menu. you can imagine this is not what i want, so i’d like to get rid of that shown text. 🙂
pictures willl help a lot in these kind of situations.
So, this is not what i want:

March 9, 2007 at 8:53 am #215412Hi Dadario,
I’m afraid we can’t do that. If the texts is disappear, we can not click in its links. You can set the color of the a tags to transparent, but IE won’t understand it. I think you should find another solution for your idea.

Do I understand you correctly if I assume you wish to replace the default top menu, with a menu your own creation, that is a series of graphic buttons with rollovers etc ? but still in the top menu area?Basically a javascript horizontal dropdown menu? If that is correct, PM me I may have a solution

March 11, 2007 at 1:16 am #215494would a text-indent: -999px; not work; Effectively hide the text by shifting off screen

Got your PM and will look at some solutions over the next few days, I’ll be looking at non destructive solutions, but a variation on what has been said here. Why not make the Database text appear as the same colour as your graphic buttons by changing the colour of the css .navbar a tags?
Assuming your buttons are a solid colour and don’t change as you rollover?
it may mean some textual style restrictions for the choice of font and position on the button, but in theory should work ok?
