In have the JA Platon template installed which came with Masshead module 1.0.2

Is it a clean upgrage to 2.6.1?

The issue with 1.0.2 is there doesn’t seem to a way to define a masthead at the category level. Or is there?
Or is there a way to have a default masthead if no specific masthead is defined in the module?

    Thanks.

    Hi
Masthead work based on Menu items .
You have to configure the masthead module and can add description based on the menu items .
I am not getting your question related to the version of module , could u give me more details with screenshot .

The version of the module (1.0.2) installed with the template looks like the attachment…

Version 2.6.1 has the ability to assign a masthead at the category level using the condition rules.

I want to be able to have a masthead appear automatically for a category without having to assign a masthead manually to a menu item.

The use case is this: users only assigned front end access can create latest news content (creates in the latest news category) that appears on the site. I want the latest news masthead to appear on these articles. But unless I manually assign the masthead, it doesn’t.

So is there a way of doing this with version 1.0.2 on the JA Platon template?
Or if I upgrade to 2.6.1 to get the additional conditions it supports, is it a clean upgrade? Will all the existing rules be maintained? I’m asking as it looks quite different so I don’t know if the architecture of it is different

    Hi
The masthrad 1.02 is the latest version already . I am not sure which version of 2.6.1 you are talking ?
The module masthead work on the menu items . As u can see in your screenshot . You can add menu item in the fields and define title and description to them. Its work for Menu not for category .

Let me know if you have any doubt in this part .

    https://www.joomlart.com/joomla/extensions/ja-masshead-module

Says v2.6.1. But this is not the version that installs with the template. I am running J3.6.4

Both versions have a default title and description. Why not a default image? Or do I assign this default image in another way? That is, how do I assign a generic masthead to pages that are not otherwise uniquely defined in the module? Users who create a content items from the front end have no way to assign a masthead.

In v2.6.1 there are conditions, that presumably allow me to assign a masthead at the category level. With the 1.0.2 version I can only assign to menu items.

    Hi
Kindly upgrade the Module to 2.6.1 and you will get the same module with custom options .
This version also builds to make the Masthead more simple .
I also check this with concern team for the two available version and get back to you once i will get any information on it .

Thanks for reporting this issue .

Back to this on version 2.6.1…

How do I assign a generic/default background image to all pages where none is assigned? There are parameters for default description and default title, but not for default image.

How do I use the parameters to assign a default to a category…I thought something like this might work:
    [Masshead option="com_content" view="category" id="13" title="E-SAFETY" background="images/banners/banner.jpg"] [/Masshead]
    but it doesn’t.
