I understand that Wall does not use T3, however due to the dearth of module positions, Mega Menu (or something like it) would be an ideal feature. I’m finding the module limitations onerous. Aside from the lack of options there is also a lack of compatibility: for example incorporating advertising.

    Hi xenocast,

    Thank for your idea.
As you may know, JAWall is a bit heavy. We have try to make JAWall light enough so we have decided not to use T3 Framework.

If you have any other question, just let me know.

    Hi xenocast,

Can you elaborate on what you mean by not “incorporating advertising”? Can you not put ads into the module positions (aside 1/2/3)? Or am I missing something?

This is a complete non-answer. If you actually read what I wrote – it started with “I understand that Wall does not use T3” so why bother answering at all? Do you have a quota to meet?

And it was not a question, it was a suggestion and I also said “or something like it” i.e. a similar option could be made with or without T3 reliance.

Regardless, this being a suggestion I am not trying to waste anyone’s time. Please don’t waste mine or anyone else’s who looks to these forums for actual insight and help.

Rene, this thread was not meant as a support request or problem (complaint) just a suggestion. Good businesses listen to customers who take the time to make suggestions. Getting some outsourced, call center style non-answer is insulting and a total waste of everyone’s time.

I am saying that the options for incorporating ads are very limited without hacking the mod positions. My only attempt thusfar to put ads in the aside positions has been through a third party ad manager for Joomla and no ads will display within the aside positions. I noted that others have had issues with incorporating ads – as well so I don’t believe that I am alone in finding this problematic. But even if it worked, having a very limited choice for placement and that choice being limited only to a dynamically loading option gives the administrator a poor choice of options.

Putting ads in the sidebar or mainnav is also very limiting due to size constraints.

IMHO having some additional options for module positions is very much needed for this to be a useful template for almost any purpose other than a Pinterest style pinboard. Even there most webmasters would want some control over the specific placement of modules e.g. the ability to put modules into the aside positions in a hierarchy including the ability to pin say an ad module to display on the first load and then within a specific, consecutive interval. The problem with trying to copy Pinterest without some flexibility and power to customize is that the potential end user of any such effort is left with the obvious question of – why would I bother with this site when Pinterest does this and does it better with way more content?

    Hi xenocast,

Okay. I am going to try putting in test ads with iJoomla (which I have installed but which I have not tried yet). I am hoping this will work as advertising is extremely important to my website (and I am sure other people’s). This is why I asked my question. Without ads I would not be able to support the vision of the website I have in mind.

I will post back (probably in a few days) with my test results.

FYI, The component I was testing with is SocialAds by Techjoomla. Initially I tried with a bunch of other extensions installed, but then in order to ensure there were no other conflicts that might be problematic, I tried on a fresh Quickstart install of JA Wall then installed SocialAds. Still did not work

Try temporarily turning off the LAZYLOAD plugin and then try again.
We’ve identified a conflict with the LAZYLOAD plugin that is impacting a few third party components, such as JCE, and we are activly working on an update.

Please report back to us your results.
