Hi All
I’m sorry about posting this here and it seems that I dont have the privileges to post anywhere else so I would be much obliged to the moderators if they could perhaps move this to where it may be of some use.
I am a developer who was recently passed some business regarding a template purchased from JoomlArt that was broken on install and the previous developer who purchased the template was unable to fix it. Hence the lack of a subscription account (I wasn’t likely to pay $70 just to post what I think may be helpful here)
I am referring to the JA Puresite template in which, when using the quickstart and installed on my clients server, the megamenu was immediately broken in that it displayed, however the hover did not work and the child items did not display. After several hours of searching the internet and this forum and finding no helpful answers despite a number of similar problems, I dug into the debug reports again and stumbled over the conflict. It would appear that the K2 loading of the external jquery script was killing the megamenu. As a result I changed the following:
In the K2 parameters change the “jQuery library handling” property from the default: “Load 1.7.x Latest (remote copy)” to “1.7.1 (local copy)” and megamenus dropdown again and the hover works.
I do not know if this is the best fix or if it is even a complete fix, but it hasn’t broken anything else yet and my menu is still working.
Obviously if you arent running K2 and still have the same problems I would start by seeing which components may be trying to externally load a jquery script and start there.
I hope this gets moved somewhere it can be of use. Sorry for posting it in the wrong section (which no doubt this is).
Nice templates JoomlArt btw, Very impressive, should I get another Joomla contract in the future and need a theme, I will no doubt pay the subscription at that point when I can justify the expense 🙂
Kind Regards
Liam
