My problem has been fixed. I had to do 2 things:

1. I had to go into the database and replace all occurences of topmenu-de-de-de and topmenu-de-de-de-de-de with topmenu-de.

2. I had to go through all menu items and make sure the correct template layout was linked to it. (It wasn’t in one case, not sure why.)
