Mega Menu is not working at all in either Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, latest releases for all three (as of Dec. 6, 2010).

I have confirmed that the split menu works, the CSS menu works, but the dropline menu also does not work.

The site files were obtained just yesterday from Joomlart, and uploaded and installed the same day, so I am reasonably sure that I have all the latest products.

The URL is http://www.russellhudson.com. Please email or PM me for the password if you think you can help, as the site is offline at the moment.

    Database Version: 5.0.45
    Database Collation: utf8_general_ci
    PHP Version: 5.2.6
    Web Server: Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS)
Web Server to PHP interface: apache2handler
Joomla! Version: Joomla! 1.5.22 Stable [ senu takaa ama woi ] 04-November-2010 18:00 GMT

    I am on OSX 10.6.5

I have also confirmed that it does not work in Opera, and ….checking Windoze…. and it does not run in IE8 in Windows XP Home Edition running in a Parallels Desktop virtual machine.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or help

Do you have the mootools upgrade turned on?? If yes then that will stop megamenu as the onle supplied with JA is currently only mootools1.1 friendly

No, the Mootools upgrade is turned off, just as installed. I have a help ticket open for this, and I’m just waiting for resolution.

I believe I traced the problem to a system conflict with the installation of the JCE editor. When the JCE editor is installed, the mega menu doesn’t work. When I uninstalled the JCE editor, the mega menu started working again. I have since duplicated this error on another website, using a different template that has the mega menu in it.

I wish this weren’t so. The Tiny MCE editor is very limiting. About half the time, I have to toggle the Tiny MCE editor off so that I can insert code that the JCE editor has built in tools to accomodate. That is frustrating because it cancels out one of the advantages of using a CMS in the first place.

If anybody knows of an expanded editor that doesn’t conflict with mega menu, that would be great.

I use JCKeditor which is better than MCE..

If JCE uses mootools then it will stop mega working though if you search my posts there is a solution with an updated megamenu script for moootools 1.2.. Try it and see whether it cures the issue

Hi kymmy, Thanks for the reply. Where are the files located that you are referring to in that post? I’m not able to find DRAG.BASE.EXTEND or ja.ddmod.js. Thanks!
