I think this is well know issue
if I activate in Global configuration :Search Engine Friendly URLs = YESMy mega menu sub topics do not work.
error reported is : 404 Category not foundbut if i switch to Search Engine Friendly URLs = NO
all is set and working.
Unfortunate then mega menu home button does not work.I found some solution in this forum.
Would like to know which one is best !

Use URL rewriting
Select to use a server’s rewrite engine to catch URLs that meet specific conditions and rewrite them as directed. Available for IIS 7 and Apache.Apache users only.
Rename htaccess.txt to .htaccess before activating.IIS 7 users only
Rename web.config.txt to web.config and install IIS URL Rewrite Module before activating.And the reason we don’t enable Use URL Rewriting option is that before activating this option, you need .htaccess file – which is located in your server that is beyond our control.
Another reason is that in order to make this option work, your server must support mod_rewrite and we don’t know in advance whether your server supports this option or not.
Hope this make senses.
