I’d like to take a moment of your time to introduce our second “Member Of The Month”! This month, we’ve decided to award ShannonN with the “Member Of The Month” ribbon, as he has assisted the community on numerous occasions including some conversions of the PSD files, with no benefits at all.
Well, like last month, ShannonN agreed to be interviewed and you can find the interview transcript at the end of this post. I would also like to take this moment to also personally thank ShannonN, he’s been a great person to have here, as I’m sure many will agree.

Hi Shannon, can you tell us a little about you? Where do you live? Is ShannonN your real name?
Hi Michael, Well I’m a a 50 year old guy, formerly a computer technician/system builder and worked within the computer industry, for many years
This year I decided as a committed Christian, I’d rather attend Bible College and learn more. I’m studying for my Diploma Of Theology, I live in Queensland, Australia and Shannon is my real first name, the ‘N’ being the first letter of my surname, very original stuff !
Have you got a personal webpage and if so, was this site designed by you?
I really don’t have a website but have several domains that i use as live test beds, I’ll be using a Joomlart template design on my ‘Home’ site when I finally get around to it
How did you become to know the open-source Joomla system?
Actually read about it and changed from a coldfusion based host to one that offered Joomla and all the goodies that integrate with it, don’t think I’d be happy going back to a non Joomla system now
How did you become to know our JoomlArt templates?
Have no real skills or understanding of Joomla template design, though I did try various dreamweaver extensions to add functions etc, But decided it’s far easier, cheaper to purchase professionally designed templates than spend weeks trying to create anything that works and looks good, hence the low cost and range/look of Joomlart templates won out for me
What made you stay with JoomlArt?
The visual appeal of the templates I think, plus my involvement in support, I enjoy helping where I can, and that has led me to form ongoing friendships within the Joomlart community, as well it’s increased my Joomla knowledge immensely, Problem solving others needs leads you to research things you normally wouldn’t and is so rewarding
What motivates you to help out your fellow members of the community?
I was a noob once, and still have no real deep understanding of Joomla or template design or some functions, so I can really relate to the need for clear explanations and hand holding initially
What is your favourite JoomlArt template?
Hey that’s not a fair question, Michael! there are so many that look great and work well, its so hard to choose, I’d say Bellatrix is visually great, Utahia has some good ideas and I love simplicity of Teline and the directions that takes us
What do you like about JoomlArt?
The development team is enthusiastic and knowledgeable, they listen to the membership and churn out what we ask for in general
If you ran JoomlArt for a day, what would you do? Would you change anything?
I think it’d be great to sit down with these guys and discuss their business model, I’d look towards opening new areas on the forum and leaning to the need for extensive documentation to accompany these newer later templates as their design and function are complex and as they offer more modules plugins etc we need to have clear ideas on their operation as well as just how to install them
What kind of templates are you interested in seeing more of?
Interesting question, Michael, I created poll on the forum to highlight some areas I felt we need to look at, Basically I believe there is a tremendous need for templates that have themes attached to match 3rd party forums and shopping carts! So many users add forums and carts to Joomlart templates, we need to keep the professional colour schemes of the templates carrying over these addons

Becoming a Christian and acknowledging the Lord as my Saviour
What is the biggest mistake you’ve done and how did you learn from it?
Not moving to Joomla when it was first available
