June 16, 2011 at 12:53 am #165265On my site, http://www.hamlethub.com, when I click on one of my main menus, it returns a 404 error. I can’t figure out why. It is set up identical to the other menu items.
The category is “sports” and the menu is located at http://www.hamlethub.com/ridgefield. Please help.

You are using sh404sef in your site, arent you? Please try clearing sh404sef cache to see if it helps.

June 24, 2011 at 8:59 am #398192Hi, may I ask what type of url rewriting method you are using? Try disabling that feature to see if the issue still appears. If it doesnt we can investigate further into your URL rewriting.

June 26, 2011 at 12:00 pm #398469I am using the url rewriting that is part of the Joomla 1.6 core, within the global configuration menu. If that was a problem, why do all of the other menu items work well?

Hi Hamlethub,
Have you enabled the file .htaccess in your root folder? If you haven’t done that, please locate the file htaccess.txt in you joomla root folder and rename it to .htaccess. I think that would solve the issue.

June 27, 2011 at 11:16 am #398644Yes, I have enabled the .htaccess folder. Please understand, every other menu item works great. They are all created the same. I don’t understand why this is the only category that does not work.
Is it possible to rebuild the menu? Or the categories? Do you think this can solve the problem?

I think its worth trying, please rebuild the menu first, if that wont work, try to recreate the categories as well.
