i would like to change the color of my submenu items to white, how can i do that?

I’m not exactly sure what you are meaning as “submenu items” … but it you are wanting to change the “cream” background of the submenu in the “left” position:

Goto template.css line 975

Change as below.

ul.menu li li a {
background:url(“../images/bullet.gif”) no-repeat scroll 18px 14px #FFFFFF !important;
border:medium none;
font-weight:normal !important;
padding-left:26px !important;
text-transform:none;
}
