My live site testingserver-aegies-associates.com (see ‘about us’ page) shows a menu on the left column titled On this page – but it has been deleted from inside joomla backend. I can’t seem to get rid of this menu – the database has no items for it and I can find anywhere in the backend. I have tried clearing caches both on browser and on joomla backend.

I have tried on other browsers also. How do I clear this?

    Additional Info:
Problem goes away if I change to different menu type such as CSS Menu from Split Menu – returns when I go back.

guys can anyone help with this please. I have tried everything. on http://testingserver.aegies-associates.com the left column menu tree (On this page) at the top of all pages except the home page – is not visbale as a module in the administrator, nor is there any record of it in the database – but it is there. it disappears if I change the menutype in the template setup. the second menutree on all pages also named is able to be removed, turned off or edited as needed.

where else apart from teh administartion panel and the database is this menu being acccessed from?

The forums urgent help solving this problem would be much appreaciated.

    regards
    Keith

Have you checked the module manager to see if there is a module for that menu in there?
It’ll be under the name of “on this page”.

Had a look and as you noticed yourself this only happens when using the split menu.

When you use the split menu then all sub menu items will be placed in the “on this page”, the split menu uses this as it has no drop down boxes the other menu types have like moo and css.

You can also see this happening on the demo:

    http://templates.joomlart.com/ja_sulfur/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&layout=blog&id=4&Itemid=56

For example on the “about us” the “our key facts and documents” and “our specialism” are submenu’s of the about us menu.

If you wouldn’t have the “on this page” then the split menu wouldn’t have an option to display the sub menu’s, so its not a module you can disable.

So you’r stuck with the on this page menu or you have to switch to css or moo menu.

I agree with this and understand your message. The point is the two ‘On this page’ menus – the top one cannot be deleted at all as it doesn’t appear in the module manager or the database. It did appear but then dissapeared. The lower ‘On this page’ menu, can be deleted / edited / changed as needed as it does appear in the module manager and the database. The question is how do I get rid of the first one – as it doesn’t appear anywhere in the cnfiguration, it seems to have become hard coded in some way.

    Yes,

The first “on this page” comes hard coded with the split menu, as otherwise it would not be able to show the sub menu’s on your site. If you would remove this part you will have a non-functional split menu as it wont be able to show its submenu’s

The second “on your page” is in indead a module you can enable or disable but it is used to show your main menu in the left section. The name of it is a bit confusing.

Your answer is in my previous post

If you didnt have it before then you used a different type of menu (css or moo) or you didnt have any submenu’s yet so then it wouldnt be there.

So if you dont want to have it, make sure you dont have submenu’s or change to a different menu type.
