Hi,
I am having difficulty linking my menus to articles, they are all greyed out when you go to select. I have disabled K2 as I am not using it to write the articles. Thanks

I have written an article and want a menu item to link to it – eg I create a menu called Test and then go to select article layout to link it to an article, at that point the article to be selected becomes grey. And as another separate matter, JCE does not appear when I try to write articles in K2, so I disabled it.
Thanks for all your help.

January 16, 2011 at 4:35 pm #372093It appears your TEST menu module is not enabled..thus the graying.
In your administrator area goto: EXTENSIONS > MODULES and search for TEST and see if it is enabled. When you create a new menu, you are also creating a new MODULE which allows you to control on which pages and which positions it appears.
Have fun!

John.</blockquote>Hi,
I have enabled the module but still can’t link to articles. Interesting;y, I can link to K2 articles but unfortunately my default editor, JCE does not show up when writing K2 articles.aman204 Friendaman204

Thank you, I am currently using chrome and the access to the net has also been slow lately, and might have contributed. Will give firefox a try.
Thank you.:)

@jimcom76 the menu link will ALWAYS be grayed out when you are in SINGLE ARTICLE menu type. In this mode, you are being asked to select the ARTICLE you want to link to (in the upper right – PARAMETERS area). Once selected the link will change on its own. You CANNOT manually CHANGE/EDIT/DELETE the link…under the SINGLE ARTICLE menu type.
If you are wanting your MENU to go to a specific LINK then you need to use the EXTERNAL LINK style of menu item.
Have fun!
