Hi there i have the menu set to CSS Menu, -9linked to main menu)
It should extend across the page, but i am finding that it wraps after there are four menu items, this is on IE8, but on Firefox it goies across the screen perfectly
For examaple
IE8
HOME ¦ Karate ¦ Videos ¦ Schedule (then it wraps from here to a new line)
OtherFireFox
HOME ¦ Karate ¦ Videos ¦ Schedule¦OtherCan anyone explain why this happens, if i have a few more items on the menu in IE8 it then works, so i am not sure how to fix
Any help appreciated

AI see no problem in Firefox 3.59 at HDMI resolution or in IE 8. Suggestion, if you MUST have the annoying music, please put a turn off button on the page so the user can kill it? It’s also increasing site load times a bit.
You may wish to check which width setting the site is using (in template manager) and try a few different such as auto, wide screen etc to see if that solves the ie 8 problem at your system or flush the cache etc

June 9, 2010 at 9:11 pm #346577I am dissapointed that you didnt like the music:D
Its actually from the movie below, if you scroll down you can stop it. Its more so to give the kids a history of shotokan.
I have found out a couple of things that may help
1. The IE6 message pops up on load, so i am guessing that since i loaded / installed IE8 on top of ie6 for some reason it still thinks it is running IE6? (Do you think that is a possibility?). Although i havent experienced any other compatibility problems.
2. If run the browser in compatibility mode then that rectifies the problem, although that is not a solution as it should fix websites that were created for older browsers to be compatible with IE8
3. I run resolution at 1024 x 768 , and i have changed it to 1280 x 1024 – this makes no difference
4. I have adjusted the widths via the template manager, but to no avail :((
5. Like i said if i add a couple more menu items the problem is recitfied, but what if i dont need the extra items
6. In terms of load times – i am still putting this together so i will optimise afterwards in terms of speed of loading etc…
Any other ideas?? All help appreciated, thank you all for your time that you have spend reviewing this.
Kind Rgds
AJune 9, 2010 at 9:13 pm #346578Darrenf thanks for your feedback, yes thats right same problem not quite sure why though, when i check it on IE7 funnily enough it is ok.
June 10, 2010 at 2:05 pm #346647This isue is also discussed in this Joomlart form thread –

Their problem is happening in IE.
I think it’s in the code for the 2 new sites

JR thanks for the confirmation.
So it looks like it is nothing that we are doing wrong. And we can discount the problem only being on Apple.I wonder if anyone of the Joomlart support team has any ideas. Guys can you please pitch in with an answer.
It good to do the testing but any help would be appreciated, as it would save heaps of time and you guys are more familiar with the code.
Thanks

June 15, 2010 at 2:18 am #347060Hey Tien,
It sounds like the same issue I posted here: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/main-menu-breaking-into-2-rows/
Is there another menu we can use to replace this if it cant be solved?
Regards

June 15, 2010 at 9:35 pm #347165I am having the same issue. It is happening in Firefox on Mac. I am thinking it is a javascript issue as the with calculated is a few pixels short of what it should be.
If anyone has a solution, please post

AHi Andrea
I’m viewing it ok in I.E 8 on a PC so it MAY be an Apple thing after all?

Can you try changing the last menu to a single word? If I remembered it right, is my current work aroundAuthorPostsThis topic contains 26 replies, has 7 voices, and was last updated by Saguaros 14 years, 3 months ago.
