I have a site at http://cressymembers.com hosting on joomla 1.5 on a Godaddy shared hosting package. My issue is that the menus work fine (fast and responsive) using Firefox, but slow and almost unusable seeing the site with Internet Explorer 7. The great majority of these users 90%+ will use ei7, so I have to find a solution.
I have tried all the menu choices that came with the template and they all perform poorly with IE.
Any ideas? Thanks.

December 17, 2008 at 11:59 pm #283285I’m experiencing exactly the same problem with IE7. Under Firefox everything is fast.

December 18, 2008 at 12:05 am #283286I have received no response form the joomlart support people, which is very dissapointing. The problem can even be seen in their own online demo. I am about to move to another vendor (joomlashack, most likely) and may have to stop recomending their templates.

December 18, 2008 at 10:50 am #283346I found some solution…
You are loosing menu transparency but menu start working properly with IE7.
In
<blockquote> ja_menus/ja_cssmenu/ja.cssmenu.css </blockquote>
I replaced:
/* 2nd level and above */
#ja-cssmenu li ul {
border: 1px solid #666666;
background: url(../../images/trans-bg.png);
}with
/* 2nd level and above */
#ja-cssmenu li ul {
border: 1px solid #666666;
background: url(../../images/grad2.gif) repeat-x bottom #666666;
}Regards,

December 18, 2008 at 11:27 am #283349Maybe it looks OK on a fast connection, but I experienced the same porblem now on IE7. I believe you are using Suckerfish option? Have you tried Moo menu option? That’s not really a solution, but maybe temporary if it helps.

I was testing both MooMenu and CssMenu. And after my fix both of them are working fast both Firefox and IE7.
They are using same css definitions.
I think IE7 has a problem with transparency. Try Ja_Helio with suckerfish menu. There is similar problem in this template on IE7
I think this problem is solved.
