Hello long time no see! haha.

I have a problem with my website with some of the links @ http://www.controversygaming.com

If you hover over “Peripherals” at the top and click on it, it will take you to a page where you can see the latest articles published within the sub-categories for peripherals. That’s how it should be on all the other menus (games, pc tech, console)

If you hover mouse over games, you’ll see the URL is http://www.controversygaming.com/browser when I checked the link via back-end, the link is gaming news (ID 90) but front-end it’s linked to browser (ID 96)

http://www.controversygaming.com/browser – the page is showing everything right… but the link should be http://www.controversygaming.com/gaming-news
Manually going to /gaming-news only shows sub-categories.

Top menu link for “PC Tech” should be http://www.controversygaming.com/pc-tech-news but it’s linking to http://www.controversygaming.com/motherboard and it’s ONLY showing articles from motherboard category.

http://www.controversygaming.com/microsoft – the page is showing everything right… but the link should be http://www.controversygaming.com/console-news
Manually going to /console-news only shows sub-categories.

    Any suggestions?

I got this problem when I tried to access back-end of your site.

Use a valid username and password to gain access to the administrator backend.

Please check it and pm me again.

Or you can try with my below solution

+ Disable all caching on your site.

+ Select all the menu and click Rebuild button

That’s weird, it was working fine last night and I haven’t touched the site at all today. Let me see what’s gone on…

Also noticed that the top menu ordering is messed up. This has happened since making this thread, has any other member of staff been on my website’s back-end?!

You can login cpanel of your hosting and use phpMyAdmin tools from cpanel reset password of your site:((

I tried doing that but apparently I don’t have “jos_users”.

I did a complete site back up last night when I made the thread in case you guys needed to make changes, I haven’t touched the site at all today… I can’t seem to log in with my personal account either. It doesn’t say “wrong username/password” (same when I try log in back-end via admin)

Just made a dummy account… and it’s the same. No “Wrong username or password” error. Just refreshes and refuses to log in.

This thread is basically exactly what is happening. I will try the solutions posted there.

You need to check cache from database and files are using on your site. Maybe it’s a cause denied to login from back-end on your site

Or you can have a look at the solution on this link: http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=717423#p3007367

You’re gonna have to be patient with me with this, I’ve pretty much never explored the database, so it’s all confusing for me. I can’t find half the stuff suggested in the thread.

What could of caused this problem though? Everything was working fine (in terms of logging in and the top menu order) till I made this thread 🙁

Sent. Thanks alot for this. I just can’t figure out how doing a backup / doing nothing can cause these problems.
