Hello. I have changed the meta description in the HOME (in section menu) but when I get my link and paste it on
facebook the old meta description shows up and the following code appears next to my main address ?view=featured

How can I get rid of that and also edit the meta description.

    Thank You

I didn’t know what did you change Meta Description in Homepage but I have changed it from here

The meta description on our site test did immediately change. You can try to do this again.

Ninja, it didn’t work for me. Been there – Done that! Any other suggestion?
I even installed an SEO plugin – when I right click to the the page code the meta description, title and meta keys are there, but when I copy and paste the link on facebook… I get that that you can see in the printscreen.

Interesting, because I have done that before using joomla 2.5 and it worked. Now, it’s not working on joomla 3.1

    Hi Cursoblue,

    This is what i see >> http://easycaptures.com/fs/uploaded/810/8197226245.jpg

Now, your site is offline and your site meta description is >> http://easycaptures.com/fs/uploaded/810/9217841209.png

I did check upon this few days back. I think first of all you need to put your site online and also need to know how Facebook cache works for meta description.

See here, if i add string to the end of the same url >> it updates the cache >> http://easycaptures.com/fs/uploaded/810/0275634421.jpg

    Please read these resources :

    1. http://umairj.com/146/how-to-clear-facebook-shares-cache/
    2. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5776567/facebook-open-graph-not-clearing-cache

I think, Ninja Lead should have clarified that this issue is not related to template but to how facebook works in terms of meta description cache. We also have faced the same issue when we used to update meta description of blog posts before posting to facebook. As a bypass, we used to generate tiny url using bit.ly or google short url and submit the facebook.. that worked for us to refresh the meta description.

    Regards

    Arvind
