    Meta Titles and Tags

I realize that nobody is supposedly using metatags anymore

but i am used to including them

my joomla control panel has under ‘Global configuration’ a tab for Metadata

    Global Site Meta Description:

    Global Site Meta Keywords:

which i have filled in just as you would for HTML pages

when I search my site under google – the site description is —

    .http://www.myWEBsitename.com. Home; MenuItem1; MenuItem2; MenuItem3; MenuItem4; You are here: Home …

How can I change this to better reflect a descritpion of my website.

what file & subdirectory do i goto …

where would i include meta tags (search) if not in the Joomla Global Config ???

    thanks

The meta tag is processed by Joomla core. Google need time to re-cache your site content.

    that answer doesnt sound right

i have had my metatags and meta title at the website since it was created

so then the GOOGLE search should have used my descritions when it searched my site

    it didnt

it seems like it pulled them from a Joomla file and ingnored my Global config

you should be doing seperate metas for each page. If you look at the parameters for each article that you write you will see the option to create page specific meta tags.
