Never manually submit or use a submission program. Always have your site crawled intop the index. Think of the search engine algo as a point system.
Submit manually lose _5 points
Submit buy link crawl get 10 pointsSo, although it will not get you banned or anything and your site will be quickly crawled., you will be penalized by the algo.

Absolutely correct, the mate tags are generally ignored, except by Live Search.
the description tag is used for the description in your search engine listing, but..if you do not use it, the search engines should grab the most relevent text on your page related to you title and domain name.<blockquote>And for that shop, I did not even submit the site,</blockquote>
Some of the domain registrars have deals with google to get any active domain indexed. Also, a domain cannot be deleted from the index (unless banned), so if you pick up a recently expired domain name, you will already be indexed. Google’s master plan is to index the whole internet, so they will ignore the robots file and other directives from time to time to achieve that goal.<blockquote>or used some “free search engine submit service” /QUOTE]
absolutely true, using submission services is not a good thing.wooohanetworks Friendwooohanetworks

So you say, “also do not submit via the google form” is that right, do I understand that correctly? The one thing seems to be strange somehow, as you mention deals with the hosts etc., could it be that the GD Problem you mention is not coming up when using the “free google stuff” GD brings with every plan. Only thing I could think of also when nearly any host has those free goodies and I actually never used them.
What you mention for LiveSearch might be the reason why the engine is emptier as all the others. Whenever you search anything on LiveSearch you get less reuslts than with any other engine.

January 20, 2009 at 3:13 am #287175I dropped out of GD. I only had it for a month. I might use it for file keeping though since some of my files download are over 500MG.
Googled crawled my site again today but it did not index. I can also see the crawl activity. I guess, I’ll just have to wait.
