February 8, 2009 at 8:13 pm #137907ALSO SEE MY NEXT POST BELOW, PEOPLE GET CONFUSED BY VARYING INFORMATION IN MEMBER AREA AND CONTACT US AREA!!!!
I just see that the support ticket system has been disabled without prior notice. (Or was there a sticky note recently?)
- Will this be permanent or is this a temporary issue?
- Will this also affect the “Require Help From Staff + Mod/Admin” system and will this option also be cancelled in the future?
- When it does not affect the “Require Help From Staff”option, will same support be provided this way on a satisfying basis, completely replacing the support ticket system?
To make it short, what will JA Members see in changes in the near future and what will stay as it is?
Thanks!

February 8, 2009 at 8:30 pm #290137Please Note: The Premium Support Ticket System is working as normal.
This system is available for paid members ONLY.
What Woo refers to above is simply a contact form on the front page that has probably been there for years. Joomlart have added the note to stop unlicensed members seeking tech support.
The following was written before I saw Woos mistake…
I thought the email support was a bad idea in the first place. It meant JA having to repeatedly answer the same questions and it meant solutions to problems were not posted in the forum for everyone to see.The level of support by Hainn and JA Developer(s) has increased drastically in the last month or so and it’s very rare to see an unanswered support question now.
If the email premium support is gone for good it will be no loss.

February 8, 2009 at 8:38 pm #290139Actually the premium support system still seems to be working as normal.
Woo, you are looking at the front end contact form which is open to general public and which does NOT offer tech support.

February 8, 2009 at 8:42 pm #290142I think all support threads should be on an open forum rather than via email. I help out occasionally on the Coppermine support forums and while it does suffer in some ways it does work really well.

February 8, 2009 at 8:46 pm #290144Woo you should edit the thread title before people do start thinking it’s canceled!

February 8, 2009 at 8:55 pm #290145Oh, no, I leave it that way, so that Joomlart.com will edit the note in this area that users have to use the other one, buddy. Most may click on the top link before going through several pages and will see this note, and will think that it is so, like proposed there. I received a PM from another member who told me that, and I told them that it still worked a few days ago… Same confusion like with the copyright issues, one sort of info here, other info there, that is inappropriate.
I also think that forum support is a nice idea, and nothing against you or others who solve problems for others, but personally I prefer to let pros do the job, like with JA Developer for the new help function.

So even though you know you have made a mistake and the support ticket system is still available you are going to advertise that it is canceled in a public area of the forum? I know what I’d do with you and your attitude!

February 8, 2009 at 9:10 pm #290150THANKS FOR ADDING THIS!
BUT, BIG PROBLEM!!!
As you mention, only paid user can access this information, now when you are about to purchase a membership and see this note in the contact us area, that only forum support will available, will rather say no to a purchase. SO THE NOTE MUST READ! FORUM SUPPORT AND PREMIUM SUPPORT AVAILABLE TO MEMBERS ONLY!
For now, people who read the note when not being a paid member GET FALSE INFORMATION, when the information in the member area is correct!
THANKS!

I made no mistake, in this area it says: “no support via email but only in the forum”! What info is misleading, the info there is!
I am out of this, you confuse more, as you do not understand the issue….see screenshot and what it says…clear words, different information somewhere else, got it???
Thanks!

February 8, 2009 at 9:18 pm #290153So wouldn’t a PM to a Mod suffice? Instead of broadcasting incorrect information on a public part of the forum?
If you look again at JA’s front page you will see that they advertise email support to paid members. Your making a mountain out of a mole hill.
It has been like this for months but because someone pointed it out to you you go on a yet another credit boosting rampage. I hope you get your 6000 credits soon and hopefully it will mean an end to some of the drivel we have to read through.

February 8, 2009 at 9:50 pm #290161looks like someone is advertising for another forum ban….. good luck with that……. you just seem to be unhappy with some of the answers you got from it recently and are on a “revenge” mission?
For everyone’s information like scotty said the premium support is still working the same like the day they first introduced it. So if someone prefers using it over the forum they still can.

February 9, 2009 at 8:50 am #290237i agree that the title of this thread is very misleading… i understand woohaanetworks’ concern but leaving the thread title as it is (specifically the word CANCELLED) is very misleading

February 14, 2009 at 11:55 am #291353Thanks for caring, I also already removed the screenshot again. Actually, as you may have been reading, I was told this by one other member who asked me why JA does not give support anymore and could only say, that a few days before this site still showed the normal info…
Thanks again for updating!
