Once again, another QuickLaunch is all messed up. Community Plus is missing the actual plugins JATypo and JA RPxnow. They appear in the plugins list but there is no functionality of either when published. Further, if I try to uninstall them I get the error that states Plugin Uninstall: Manifest File invalid or not found. When I look into the plugins/systems folder, neither of these plugins exist. How can I get these installed so I have a full functioning JA Administration??????>:(

Those plugins are not in the current download package as far as I can see but have been left in the database file. I shall flag this up to get it fixed.

Oh, and if you wish to remove these plugins while awaiting a reply use phpmyadmin******* to browse your jos_plugins table and remove the entries (and only those entries) for the 2 problematic plugins.

******* Always backup your database before performing any edits, just incase.

    Thank you very much Phil,

I can’t tell you how friggin frustrating it is trying to reverse engineer these Quickstarts when the database and the files don’t match, when you have no idea what extensions were really installed and what all of the module positions are and what the heck the built in module class suffix styling is. Honestly, why can’t Hung and company just create module position diagrams and make a page with all of the in-built module stylings like every other template developer? It is such a dichotomy, you have certainly the best developer of templates and yet they can’t even provide the basic roadmap to their creations; that we all pay a good chunk of change for the priviledge to use.

    Sorry guys for the trouble.

The wrong entries of Database have been fixed and reexported for the quickstart. This issue has been fixed at source, now on all new quickstart database would be clean of such left over entries, the older ones would be fixed one by one.

All the extensions (component / modules / plugins) have also been updated to support method=upgrade. So such left over entries would not be a trouble in case you wish to install them. All the extensions would be released one by one post testing.

Module positions images are sticky thread in each forum. At the same time we do agree and we are considering moving the module position guide image back to main site article for respective templates and with JA Event (check demo), we have tried to provide maximum info within the top navigation (including module positions and included extensions). This would eventually be spread over all the latest templates.

Module suffix guide is something we are working on for all the templates and trust me it will be out for all the templates. We would include them in the current userguide threads bottom.

There is still much more in the working and pipeline, things are going good and they would be much better in the coming future.

    Regards

    Arvind

So should I start all over with the new and improved Quickstart?
What do you mean by “All the extensions would be released one by one post testing”? Are they not included in the Quickstart?

I have attached examples of other module diagram and module suffixes as a successful approach to follow. All of the other developers pretty much do this exact same thing. The suffix examples become a live page within the demo site.

Thank you Arvind for the clearest response so far to these issues. I’m just trying to do my 2 cents worth to help make the product even better than it already is.

No No. You dont have to do that. You can remove the DB entries as phil has said. If you need help passover the phpmyadmin info, i shall do it for you.

They are all included, i was talking about the method=upgrade portion, which is fixed in svn and all (from svn) extensions would be tested and released one by one. (they would replace the current extensions in the download category). Routine updates.

We already have module position guide as sticky thread in each forum. For Community Plus it is HERE. (my apologies it was ready but not moved in to the forums before this).

We would be placing them in the userguide thread for now as its easy to update them in forum then in demo sites.

Thanks mate, we appreciate your efforts and time. We are always open for all the good things.
