April 5, 2007 at 6:18 pm #119547Hi there,
I think that creating .MOBI Templates for the mobile community would be a step ahead of the competition, or at least have a module/component for it? Also, in the future get into Directories……..Just my opinion…Thanks and God Bless….

April 11, 2007 at 9:26 am #217672Yeah, perhaps. I haven’t seen any Mobi templates before. Do you have any links to mobi templates for Joomla anywhere? Not necessarily any template clubs or anything, just a plain Joomla site with Mobi template on it? Would love to see one…

April 11, 2007 at 5:33 pm #217712Hi there,
No, I haven’t seen anything in regards to a Joomla Template, I always visit in their forum, but nothing. Although, there used to be a Component by the name of Wap4Joomla, and then it dissappeared….Kind of sad, I even searched in other CMS(drupal, ect….) to see if they had anything available on their side, and nothing……I told the Administrator from Joomlart that I can give a shot in modifying a current template to fit the needs of a .MOBI, but it’s not going to be easy. Currently, I’m modifying a directory(esyndicat), to fit on a cell phone, it’s not easy, I’m still breaking my head over it…..I have like 50% of it modified……
Take care and God Bless…

April 11, 2007 at 8:07 pm #217719Hi luke2125,
Creating a template that fit mobile devices requires a lot of knowledges & experiences but it’s not a very difficult job.
Go to http://ready.mobi/index.html & see whether it helps you. Their main service is testing the mobile-readiness of your site using industry best practices & standards, and they also have some useful resources about developing a “mobile ready!” website.
As far as I know, WordPress has some plugins that can turn your site into a “mobile ready!” one. You can visit my blog through your mobile or PDA and take a look! 😉
Hope it helps!

April 12, 2007 at 12:35 am #217729Hi Hieu,
Thanks for those links, and for the heads-up in regards to Word-Press, never thought of that particular one….Yes, I been around the ready.mobi site, and read most of their articles, in fact, lots of folks are investing in this…Like Visa, BMW, ect…..You have lots of big names companies investing in .MOBI……The thing is that, I can go ahead and do a simple site, plainly in html, but what I’m looking for is doing a directory that connets via PHP to MYSQL database, this is why I was experimenting with the Directory from Esyndicat, I was modifying their template….Anyways, I did went to ur web-site, very nice and clean…..:) So, I’m going to install WordPress, thank God my hosting service has it, and see if I can do something there……Thanks again for everything….
Take care and God Bless…
