March 8, 2013 at 10:36 am #185644Hi there,
For some reason the CSS stylesheets aren’t loading for my site http://www.documentaryphotoreview.com on mobile devices using a 3G data network. So all people see are text links, images and text in an ‘unstructured’ form – which is a real mess and so they can’t interact with the site.Everything is fine when using Wifi.
I was wondering if there is something preventing the CSS from loading properly, and if so what can I do to resolve it, as a high percentage of my visitors use mobile devices?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Kind regards,
Chrisopeneyemedia Friendopeneyemedia

March 10, 2013 at 12:12 am #485899So I discovered that in Chrome on the iPhone, when you select ‘Request Desktop Site’, I got the proper styled site mobile site.
So how can disable the use of the mobile style sheets, which aren’t being loaded properly
Please can someone help me get to the bottom of this?!
Thanks in advance for your help.

March 11, 2013 at 8:38 am #485987Hi Openeyemedia,
In order to disable the use of mobile style sheets, you need to go to Administrator >> Extensions >> Template Manager >> Current JA Wall style >> Layouts tab >> Edit your current layout >> Remove lines:
<file media="only screen and (max-width:719px)">css/layout-mobile.css</file>
<file media="only screen and (max-width:479px)">css/layout-mobile-port.css</file>
<file media="only screen and (min-width:720px) and (max-width: 985px)">css/layout-tablet.css</file>
Then Save. Pls inform me your result.
Regards,

March 12, 2013 at 3:24 pm #486204Hi Leo,
Thanks for getting back to me.Doing the above ensures styling, but is unsuitable for the mobile – it keeps the sidebar active, so the main content is squeezed into the remaining space. The menu is maintained as well, so it’s spread over a couple of lines.
So not a viable solution I’m afraid.
Were you able to replicate my issue at all?
Kind regards,

March 13, 2013 at 2:18 am #486246Hi openeyemedia,
For your issue, pls take backup and upgrade your site to JA Wall latest version 1.0.8. by default, the sidebar modules on our template will be automatically hidden on mobile view.
Regards,

March 15, 2013 at 9:47 am #486603Hi Leo
I’m afraid I’ve already updated to the latest version. The image shows what it looks like on the phone, and the issue I’ve been describing.
Thanks

</blockquote>Just butting in here, there is some filter in many 3G i.s.p s that prevent the rendering of some css generated buttons. I am on 3g wireless and using a desktop computer, I have problems with css based button generation, I do not use phones etc to connect so shouldn’t be affected by any responsive crap. It’s so bad I cannot even restore an akeeba backup from the web because the start button isn’t rendered therefore nothing to click. I’m in contact with my isp who are pretty useless LOL to see what happened.
I also notice this happens since AT@T and others chose to flood every web page by injecting their bmi script redirecting via http://1.2.3.4.com to load an accellerator to render pages faster.mind you I have set a blocker in firefox to stop that loading using block site plus, while it hasn’t solved my problem, sites actually load much faster
More on this google info on 1.2.3.4.com
Some interesting comments re: isp proxys and js injections are found here.a thread here discusses it.
From the norton av help page re thisCheers Shannon
